When China comes to Africa, it is to do mutually beneficial business. But when the west comes to Africa, it is to tamper with your domestic policies to their benefits and to your disadvantage.

It is even funny that this US diplomat that has been travelling across the African continent to discourage African leaders from forming alliances with China has been travelling through African airports constructed by the Chinese, driving on "African roads built by China", using "African trains built by the chinese", yet condemning African leaders for aligning with China.

That is a pity. Complex nations will need to wade through their complexities and that takes time. There is no magic about it.

Between the fall of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance, Europe went through almost a thousand years of stagnation.
