such effrontery to say Lagos is a no man’s land
Can we say the same in Onitsha or Aba?
As far as this country is concerned the Yoruba are the most tolerant tribe in the country
We are homely and peace loving unlike these SE folks
The LP party looks more like an Igbo Movement to me I ain’t gonna lie, an average obidient don’t care if PO performs they just want power to come to the east!
We shall be waiting for them on Saturday

Good man. Someone who would never mince words on his stance on the truth. They say he's not yoruba because he can't speak the language. How many children if thjs generation can speak yoruba? Thuse bogots sponsored to tanish his image cant come out openly to say their children can construct a simple sentence in yoruba.

The head of technical dept in my company is igbo from imo state. None of his children speaks igbo. He married a lady from ogun state. My children are just learning how to speak Yoruba too. The eldest is learning fast..they didn't grow in the midst of my people. GRV isn't someone who wouldn't hide facts about him...his identity is known, schools attended home and abroad are known, family backgrounds are know yet, some sponsored tribalists are saying trash because he can't speak Yoruba.

When some factions of the apc in lagos realised that Desmond Elliot was tipped ahead of their candidate, this issue also came up. They said he didn't grow up here, that he was raised in Jos, that he can't even speak Yoruba. Today, ask Desmond any questions in yoruba, you'd be shocked what you hear

We shall meet at the polls on Saturday. Sanwoolu isn't known in Alimosho,.I maintain.
You should be more concerned about election going on in your imo/Anambra than forcing someone who can not speak yorubas to his people. Why did he hire Yoruba teacher if himself has not realized that deficiency? But he can't be learning and still be leading people at the same time. He should have learnt that long time ago, he should go and learn Yoruba first before comming back to contest because it is the first prerequsite of identity to his people.

Tell me one governor in South west who can not speak Yoruba. They use Yoruba to communicate to their people because they know how important it is even Adeleke speak fluent Yoruba to his grassroot people. Have you ever noticed when Tinubu was campaigning, once he enters anywhere in South west; he began to speak Yoruba because he understands his people. For the fact that your own culture is fast loosing its identity doesn't meant Yoruba language should go into extinction like your own. It is your choice not to teach your children Igbo language, you don't enforce your choice on others because it doesn't work like that in Yoruba land.

There are many people raising their children in USA, London and other foreign countries and yet they teach their children how to communicate fluently in yorubas. So, far he has identified that gap himself, he should step aside; go and learn Yoruba first so he can communicate to grassroot and identify with culture of whom he want to lead because he can't promote a culture he doesn't understand as governor.

He can't even win, because many yorubas that voted for obi/LP because of Affenifere, some Yoruba artists, obasanjo and more will not be supporting him at governorship level. Igbo alone can't make him governor, it is not possible, just another wasted effort loading

It's the father's fault.

Mist people use English for communication with their kids nowadays.

He'll definitely work on his yoruba now. But we shouldn't use this as an excuse to not vote GRV. We need a change, we need someone new. We need the Apc structure collapsed in lagos so we can progress further. Lagos generated a lot to still be in this state.

Why now? Why at all? All na scam

The slave descendant allowed His Ungrateful evil OSU mother to poison his mind against his Yoruba host thus the reason why he was constantly saying gibberish about Yoruba heritage. The nerves! Ipob terrorist!

Very good observation or good pointer! His English and accent doesn’t sound like someone who schooled oversea. I have a bachelor and a master’s degree in USA and came in as a student. If I speak you can tell from my intonation and pronunciation that I have lived overseas.

His father is Yoruba, his mother is Igbo, he grew up in the United Kingdom & you want his father to be speaking Yoruba to him @ home?

Yes. When he's in school, he'll speak English.

Couples from different tribes should endeavour to speak their dialect to their children.

Daddy should speak Yoruba.
Mum should speak Igbo.

The children will pick up English speaking in school and other social gatherings.

Children at tender ages have the GOD given ability to pick up many languages, which many parents aren't aware of.

I read the post of a lady whose fiancé was biracial. I think daddy was English, mum Arab and they had a Spanish nanny. The guy can speak three languages because these languages were spoken to him.

His dad spoke English to him.
His mum spoke Arabic to him.
His nanny spoke Spanish to him.

Now, he's a polyglot and this made him land an international job.

So, I see no reason why parents of different tribe or race can't speak their language to their children.

nobody falls for this anymore, does sanwolu address his cabinet in Yoruba, does he give state address in Yoruba. If this is the scandal you have against him then you have nothing obviously.

Awesome!

I listened to the programme and he said he understands and speak a little but he is learning the Yoruba and Ifa both as language and a source of spirituality and culture.

This is fantastic! You can see his eyes lighting up with passion when he was talking about the Ifa!!

Okay; how many kids in Nigeria now especially in cosmopolitan Lagos that can speak vernaculars? If you look at the schools he attended from primary to secondary, I doubt it vernacular were allowed to be spoken there.

My uncle who attended Eko Boys high school around Mushin Olosa axis recently told me that they never allowed them to speak vernacular at school during his time. He only learned Yoruba because he was staying with a relative at Olorunsogo/Challenge area.

It may interest you to know that Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki although a scion of a prominent Edo clan does not speak Bini fluently but the good people of Edo have not held that against him. They are only after good governance and they will rate him based on his performance and not on his Bini language proficiency.

Non proficiency in Yoruba Langauge would not hinder his work in anyway. Tinubu with his mastery of Yoruba language has only used the skills to defraud the people and impoverished them.

As i always say, Urchin business no be work and bigotry is for the ill-informed.

Oga you lie, without speaking Yoruba any politician talk-less of a governor will have problems in governance. How will you settle disputes in warring communities. Kolewerk

Perhaps the reason obseki is a failure since he can’t speak bini
