My conscience is judging me.

A woman that i sometimes patronize left a kid to watch her shop. I wanted to buy rice. I ask him for the price because the price do flunctuate, which he said it is 100, no 50, no 20 naira. I shock, then the devil enter me and i said whether e no go sell 10. I told him to sell me 5cup of rice, after he measured and tied it, i gave him 100 and told him to take the remaining 50 and not to tell the woman so that she will not collect his 50 tip.

Kid was happy, i was happy, trader lose.

Now this evening, rice no let me eat, i am just thinking of going back to do restitution.

How do i go about it without the trader getting angry?
Go back and do the restitution and have your peace, you may tell her you mistakenly give the wrong note or tell her that you were playing with the boy and surprisingly the boy fell for the play etc.
Re: I Bought 5 Cups Of Rice For #50 Today by Murjem(m): 2:31pm On Mar 14, 2023
Its quiet unfortunate but, you have to return back to the woman and explained things to her that you came the other time to get rice on credit as you have no single cash with you and behold you met her child in her absence, though the boy really don't know about the prices and these were the numbers of cups he gave you and told him you are her regular customer as you will return the money later.

While going, you actually gave him N50 as all you have with you that day on Earth was N100.

Thank her so much and apologize at the same time letting her know you might have probably died of hunger by now if not for that logic you used and your life was saved ...

You are not a thief hunger made you do what you did, she will appreciate and even respect you more...

Never do such again please, do as I said and be at peace with your soul..

I come in peace...

Don't go explaining to the woman. You'll never earn her trust again.
Be sure to give an equivalent amount to cover-up the cheating with sincerity.
If you were to balance her #400, go to her shop with #500, buy stuff worth #100 and tell her to keep the balance. If she insists on returning it to you, tell her you remember you were owing her #400 a long time ago and although she must have forgotten but it feels right to pay her back. Walk away as soon as you finish talking.
Be at peace with your mind.

That's if and only if this story is true

Go back there today, tell the woman you came there to buy rice and the price give by the kid was wrong but you still bought it with the hope that when she is back, you'd come to balance her. Give her the 400 balance and warn her not to keep such little kid I'm shop because had it been you're a bad person, you'd buy more and pay him less but your a good man, here you are to balance her. She will respect you forever trust me.

tell her to stop putting her kids there that she mistakenly sold this to you and you said you will come and correct her but you were to busy until know. Take your money madam and she will thank you but may beats the kids but she won't there leave her in the shop again.

@MaDara01
Explain everything in a piece of paper, wrap the money inside and put in an envelope..

Drop it without letting the woman know you do.

It's better you pay now and ask for forgiveness than to be paying with your good deeds in the day of recompense.

It's commendable that you are thinking of righting your wrong.

Just keep what you did in mind the next time you call politicians currupt.

This is NOT restitution because in her mind she'll be owing you a favor. Restitution is tell her you mistakenly paid a less amount and will balance her later. Then balance her

Did he "mistakenly" pay a lesser amount as you put it

Oga a thief is a thief forget about all the bla bla bla excuses, you're simply a criminal if you needed someone to tell you the offensive truth.

In 2012 when money had good value, I went to withdraw money from a UBA bank at Aka road by plaza Uyo, I was over paid with 100k by the confused probably new cashier, after I confirmed that amount was excess by one bundle of 1k notes, the money has already been packed in a black nylon and I could have easily left with the money and back it up with flimsy excuses but I'm not a thief, I returned the money but my annoyance was that the stupid cashier just collected it back like it was nothing without ordinary appreciation.

What 100k would have buy then is what 800k of today will buy for you. If you were in my shoes you would have gone with the money. So Oga, you be thief, simple! just try and change because people like you will never believe there are still honest people out there, you always think everyone is like you because you can't just imagine it.

Go back to the shop and tell the woman you mistakenly gave her child N50 instead of the supposed amount out of haste. This act is not good at all

Atleast you feel guilty about it. That means you are not a lost cause just yet.
Some people will just call what you did a blessing from God and look for new victim and do it again.

Now go back and tell the woman you made a mistake and pay the complete money.

This advice is out of place when it comes to RESTITUTION, please sir go to the woman explain to her and then pay her the complete money.

If you follow this guy's advice, in God's sight you haven't restituted at all.

Just do what is right sir.

Following your advice, he doesn't owe the woman any restitution. Rather he should seek the boy he bought from and "restitute" otherwise restitution is no longer restitution.

Bros no long talk, the Kid is receiving punishment already, to stay on the safer Side, go back with a lady, and beg the woman, them make the remaining payment,

Waiting till tomorrow might be too late, you are not sure she will open due to this,

Do this, out of happiness She might give you something

But next time don't repeat it,
