Haba! that is a huge exaggeration. There’s probably a decent number of people earning in that range but not 80%. I agree that Canada is an expensive country, the cost of living is insane. I’ve never lived in UK so can’t offer any insights there but I have several friends there on work permits and study visa and they are all on this Canada waka so something is obviously missing that is spurring them on to still pursue Canada.
The only place I believe is unreasonable is even some parts of Ontario like Toronto, GTA and the likes as well as Vancouver every other place is much more affordable

Hello Canada Family please can anyone list 6 months diploma courses that one can do for the sake of double certification?

I genuinely look forward to your response🙏
I agree with obtaining certifications to boost your chances which is the same in all parts of the world, but the fact that 80% of people earn 45k/yr is not exactly true. I am in recruiting here and to the least, I have a fairly good data on this topic.

I lived in the UK for some years and it wasn't that bad there too. In my opinion, I would surely choose Canada ahead cos of how easy it is to own assets (house) and the clear transition to becoming a citizen (years 3). I have friends here making 7k weekly... They have been here for about 1 year. Meanwhile, the weather here is harsh and it's harder to go back home due to the long distance unlike UK.

Everyone should chase what they wanna... So long the goal is to leave Naija but I wouldn't discourage anyone from coming to Canada. The circle you keep will always determine your success anywhere.

good day everyone please I want to ask a question. I submitted my study permit application last week and on Monday ,my application is in progress, my eligibility is being reviewed I want to know how long it will take for it to be approved. Also my medicals and biometrics has not been updated, my background check is in progress. So since they started reviewing my eligibility status early how long will it take because I'm going for may Intake. Your kind response will go a long way, thanks

This is at the discretion of the visa officer, no one here can tell you categorically when your study permit would be approved and issued.

I’m genuinely interested in what your friends that make 7k/week do. Once I enter Canada, I would like to join them. Abeg?
I find this quite laughable, I believe it’s partly a joke. If you go on indeed.ca, you can’t go through all the jobs that pay about 100k a year. Does that mean you will get into all the careers? Am not sure. You can be in a career where people earn 6 figures and you will still struggle, income is determined by many factors. There are many Nursing jobs, yet there are Nurses struggling to get a job. You need to know what you want and not what the income wants.

I am sure you are aware of the queue ! long to get a skilled job which pays higher because many people are overqualified and some even have phds from where they immigrated from and still came to canada , took a fresh course and joined the queue . These folks have no option than to survive with menial jobs before it can get to their turn. The bills are huge !

My neighbors husband and wife are medical doctors from where they came from , they have to take new course here , their earnings just a little about 19cad per hour now since 4years . Same with some Europeans who have been here since over 20years earning 23cad per hour

You I’ll come to see for yourself hopefully. people lie a lot and sweet talk . It’s better to say things the way it is . anyone that have the courage can take chances. I have seen some Engineers who moved to dubai from canada despite having their PR .they only come to canada every now and then to renew their status and go back to Uae . They rather work in dubai due to the high wage and low tax than taking a 50k cad job here and tax and bills takes away the money. When you see naija talking and capping, thank the Nigerian government for destroying our currency. When you exchange little money it becomes a lot in nigeria but it’s nothing here in canada

I'm in Canada but it seems our experiences are different. It seems you are battling with low paying jobs. I and people in my circle are doing high paying jobs. I have changed jobs 3 times in 4 years and each movement increased my pay considerably.
When I came to Canada newly, it was rough. I had to go back to school, pursue an in demand highly skilled career and after my first job, I acquired hard core experiences and boom! I became a hot cake. There is no week, I don't get contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for a job. I just keep telling them I'm not available for now until I'm ready to make another move.
Please don't use your situation to discourage people. Not everyone will do 50k job. There are many factors that would contribute to how things will work for each person so don't use one brush to paint everyone.
The reality is that some people will come and struggle, they may never get their dream job. But some will come and blossom. The only advice I give intending japarians is do your research very well. Have short and long term plans and pursue your goals strategically. If I continued in the same career path I was doing in Nigeria probably I'll be one of those people on this forum discouraging people from making a move.
The summary is if you do your homework well, have a nice plan, with time all man go dey alright.

Which is highly possible depending on your plans and situations. Though doing a menial job is not a death sentence, sometimes we need to jump off our high horses to go past certain levels. One just need to focus on the goal and how best to achieve it. If you check, many locals do low paying jobs and are content with it, life means different things to different people. I will use myself for example, I don’t like the fast paced life in big cities neither do I like to live near high streets with continuous noise and pollution, I rather live in a small quiet community and close to wildlife, this considerably lowers income for the kind of field I like but then am somewhat content and super happy walking in the woods.

Hi there, good day. I just saw the youtube video link you dropped, and I wish you had more time to share what you know about the recruitment process. I sent a mail, wasn't sure you were going to get it, so I decided to reach out here. Can I have your LinkedIn? My mail is iketemmy@gmail.com. Thanks so much

Just landed Calgary, Canada... and one of the shocking things we experienced was getting free food and groceries. Hunger no fit catch you.
We just had to document the experience in a video. You can watch to know what to expect and share with others.

Who makes a video of visiting Food Bank? You guys are taking this shit too far and all wrong! Dammit. You made a video showing other peoples’ faces, you have invaded their privacy and you could be sued. Please have some sense, this just doesn’t make sense. With your settlement fund, you are not meant to go near a food bank.

Hello guys, please if someone was refused a Canadian visitor’s visa for misrepresentation, would it be stated in the refusal letter? If someone is deemed inadmissible after applying for a visitor’s visa, would it also be stated in the letter ?
