Rohr is way ahead of Paseiro
Paseiro is an empty mass of nothing
Sacking Rohr at that time and bringing in a gongoni is NFF biggest deliberate mistake

I don’t care who pajero jeep selects
I don’t care who he invites
I don’t care about his tactics
By the end of the day it’s result that matters
Not how we got it

All things considered, I would rather have a Lookman on that left wing space in a front 3.

But the thing is we are currently parading a midfield selection that is limited and maybe only good enough to dispatch Bissau-kind of threats but not good enough in the long run to hold their own tactically/technically against much tougher African opposition.

With a more balanced midfield selection behind them, I am definitely having Lookman over Simon in that front 3. Better decision making, better ball carries, better link up plays, better use of space/half spaces.

Meliforme:

Nerdie, have you seen Moses Simon of late, the improvements in his game is quite noticeable.

Considering the quality of players in camp, i think he deserves a starting place in the front three, that is, if we are staging a front three.

This is such a big deal. This has never happened before in any European country.
Oshimen single-handedly changed the narrative of Africans in Italy, just like our music!
Wow! Just wow!
he is literally dragging them to a first league title since 89/90 season. I would be disappointed if they did anything below this.

Any truly cerebral analyst can look at our midfield list and decipher quickly that we still are in need of genuine conductive creativity. Iwobi can only offer so much. He doesn't hold all the answers alone. He needs support. We need tactically-sound midfield options that will finally complete the team puzzle.

Danielnino00:

The limitations of having a thin midfield was greatly exposed during the WCQ, but obviously Peseiro isn't a sound coach, so he isn't working toward it... I knew he wasn't serious when he dropped Alhassan from his previous lists when the guy was fit...

I understand that we’re patriotic but that doesn’t mean that we should spew false information. Osimehn is doing well but prior to him, there was George weah (Seria A and balon d’or winner for Ac Milan) Samuel etoo (Champions league winner) and obagoal that has represented Africans exceptionally in Seria A

Most Guinea Bissau players are professionals and based abroad too.
It won't be a walk over. Infact, there has never been a Super Eagles team (except ROHR 2017 team that walks over qualifications).

Solutions for lack of depth in midfield, defence and goalkeeping position in the Super Eagles

The Nigerian national football team, popularly known as the Super Eagles, has a rich footballing history and has produced some of the best African players in recent times. However, there have been concerns about the dearth of talents at key positions such as midfield, defence, and goalkeeping. To address this issue, there is a need to scout for talents around the country and develop a sustainable system for identifying and nurturing young talents. In this article, we will explore some solutions to help the Super Eagles improve their squad depth in these positions.

Scouting for Talents

The first step to improving the talent pool in the Super Eagles is to scout for young talents around the country. Nigeria is a country with a vast pool of talented footballers, but the challenge has always been to identify and develop these talents. Here are some ideas on how to scout for talents around the country:

Utilize local coaches: Local coaches have an excellent understanding of the football culture in their communities and can identify talents early. These coaches should be employed and trained to scout for young players.

Establish regional academies: The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) should establish regional academies across the country. These academies will serve as a hub for identifying, developing and nurturing young talents.

Host scouting tournaments: The NFF should organize scouting tournaments in different parts of the country. These tournaments will provide an opportunity for young players to showcase their skills and attract the attention of scouts.

Leverage technology: The use of technology can help in identifying talents. The NFF should establish a database of players, including their performances and statistics. This database will aid in identifying talents who might have been missed by scouts.

Developing Talents

Identifying young talents is just one part of the equation. Developing these talents is equally important. The Super Eagles need to establish a sustainable system for developing talents, starting from the grassroots level.

Establish grassroots football programs: The NFF should establish grassroots football programs in schools and communities. These programs will provide an avenue for young players to learn the basics of the game.

Invest in coaching education: The NFF should invest in coaching education to ensure that coaches at all levels are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop young players.

Provide adequate facilities: Adequate facilities such as training grounds, equipment, and medical facilities are necessary for developing young talents. The NFF should ensure that these facilities are available across the country.

Create a clear pathway for progression: Young players need to have a clear pathway for progression. The NFF should establish a clear pathway that outlines the steps young players need to take to progress from the grassroots level to the Super Eagles. Relying on players rejected by European teams will not help us.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have a bright future, and scouting for talents around the country and developing these talents is key to sustaining this future. With the right investments in scouting, coaching education, and facilities, the Super Eagles can build a squad with depth in all positions. Establishing a clear pathway for progression for young players will ensure that the Super Eagles have a sustainable system for developing young talents. With these solutions, the Super Eagles can become a force to be reckoned with in African football and beyond.

Barcelona’s appeal to register Gavi has been rejected in court, meaning he will return to a youth contract and lose his No. 6 shirt.

The youth contract also includes a clause that allows him to leave on a free in the summer. Barça will further appeal, reports The Athletic

You just dey write rubbish! We do not lack depth in defense and midfield! We have the players, the issue is the NFF limiting the number of foreign based players. Ebuehi (Empoli), Aina (Torino), Zaidu (Porto), Akpoguma (Hoffen), Bassey (Ajax), Ogbu (Slavia), Ajayi (Westbrom), Ekong (Salertina), Osayi (Fernaberche) etc. Are you saying these guys are not good enough?
Midfielders:
Iwobi (Everton), Aribo (Southy), Onyeka (Brent), Onyedika (Brugge), Alhassan (Royal), Nwakali (a wanted man in la liga), Ndidi (Leicester) and many more youngings in AC and InterMilan! What else do you want? Hold the NFF accountable for that silly order to the coach.
Countries are calling 26 players foreign based players, the coach was put in an uncomfortable situation! There are many academics doing this thing. You always right bullcrap here!

zuchyblink is not writing bull crap. That is a list you put out there but what is the ratio of those guys being quality players in top clubs? Our footballing pool is not up to par with some of the top teams in the world. Look at Manchester City, last season we had Bernardo Silva, Joao Cancelo, and Ruben Dias, all from one country. When you branch out to other clubs, you will see loads of Portuguese talents.

While ours can't even scratch their surface. Most of these our players will not break into top national teams. They will not even make the bench. That highlights how poor our pool is and his proposition will help do that.

However, the problem in Nigeria is that the elites are more interested in looting the system. What he is proposing will require vast investment and the elites will prefer it in their bank accounts.

I think the context of the discourse is the super eagles. I however agree that these boys need to be included in the u20/u23 setup. We need to shun mediocrity and "man know man".

BTW, no Olympics qualifier for us if we do not win the second leg o and with the crop of players Salisu invited, we need prayers now o. Funny thing is, if we by some miracle qualify for the u23 nation's cup, the NFF and Salisu will use it as justification to re-invite those boys again.

the issue is are those players exceptional?? Ahmed Musa at that age was very exceptional, he was the light in the Nigeria league in 2009 or so before leaving the shores of nigeria..but these ones been invited are just regular players, and to cap it all they are from academies haba!! Super eagles is our highest footballing grade and should be treated as such
