Stop the cream/baby oil you are using on your baby..it's harsh to her/his skin. If you have original coconut oil produced by you, you can use it but just a lil on the skin. There are so many fake baby body creams/soaps and oils.

Try smoothies and see if she'll accept. Then give her weight gain smoothies.

Banana, yoghurt, avocado, peanut butter and others. You can Google weight gain smoothies to see different options.

That was my saving grace when my 2years old foodie started rejecting food

Babies lose weight before they start gaining it back after being born, please don’t be down. As long as she’s having wet diapers and feeding well as you were told, it’s all good

Please has any one experienced a case of a baby born with a congenital hand deformity called syndactyly?

It's a condition where the fingers are fused together.

If yes, where did you treat it and how did you go about it.

Good morning mamas, please what can i do to stop my boy from hitting his sister (1 year old twins).. it’s getting scary the way he hits her all the time. I have used both soft and hard strategy but it gets worse, its so heartbreaking seeing her crying and helpless. He bullies her alot, and would always want me to feed or carry him alone, if i want to feed his twin he will start screaming and hitting her, i have run out of ideas as this is very strange to me.Suggestions are welcome please.

it helps but asides taking things to boost it, how often do you remove breastmilk and also is breastmilk being removed effectively… because breastmilk works on demand and supply, the more it’s being removed, the more you produce

Also stress, diet, lack of sleep, worry and anxiety all affect
Thanks mama

Have you tried changing toothpaste? Maybe he is reacting to a particular brand. Softer brush too.

If he still bleeds then you can go for all these silicon brushes or those small small finger brushes used for younger babies

Mum you might want to inspect his entire gums first for any signs of swelling or discolouration it could be a simple Vit c & K deficiency.
I would not advise foam or cotton wool except you can see a wound that would not tolerate even soft baby brushes.
Even better see a dentist if you can afford one.

Some siblings act like rivals and you should not worry too much as this is very common.
Your son might just be craving more attention and be more needy.

When he does it remove her from the situation for a few minutes and be consistent each time it happens and tell him off sternly without raising your voice,he might be upset but will get the message eventually.

When you bring her back pick him up and cuddle him a little as well as you don’t want jealousy to set in.This might seem like rewarding bad behaviour but they both your children and 1yr is too young to start punishment and reward.

It is a stressful situation but the good news is he will grow out of it.

You would want to wait till baby is at least 6months to a year to see how it affects functionality else it is best to leave it alone since it is a simple birth defect especially if it is just skin and the bones are not fused together.

Any hospital with a department of surgery can assisted you in a consultation. If you .in Abuja i would say to see a consultant at Limi children hospital Wuse 2 or Fontana children hospital Gwarimpa.

I hope this helps.

My middle one is barely 8months and delivers hot slaps to her brother of the same age.She will remove her pacifier then use her other hand to take his own and put in her mouth then push him away or hit him and start crying herself to confuse me.I might be raising a crook!.
It’s exhausting!.

Good morning, take the baby back to the hospital, they will cut it off.

Do not attempt to cut it off yourself.

Seems you back your child a lot, so he/she is now used to your back. What you should start doing is after bathing and feeding your child, hold him/her in your hands and when you notice he/she is sleepy, lay him/her on a bed. Start with this so your child will get used to the bed and he/she can sleep comfortably.

Good morning, the baby needs an operation, you can take him/her to a general hospital for it (as it's more affordable).

There's nothing to worry about.
I made the same complaints when I took my son in for check up few days ago, and the doc told me it's just normal they loose weight first before starting to gain.
For my first tho, at 6weeks, she had doubled her birth weight , but am not sure i' be able to say the same for this my tiny lil bf here...
