Naaah in a war you either lose or win but when you lose never allow your enemy to capture you, if you cannot abscond you commit suicide. Ojukwu rebelled and ranaway. Remember Trump told McCain he wasn't smart that was why he was captured. Even the Nazis ranaway when the war wasn't in their favor. But to beg on your knees on National TV is a shame, even Mamman Vasta couldn't do it and he took the bullet like a man after several attempts to escape didn't work
To run away is no shame but to beg is a shame?

IPOBS will start a war and claim the victim. Is it true that Femi Fani Kayode slept with Ojukwu's wife?
Make your life productive early hours of the morning you are already typing out your mediocrity

How was it a foolish fight. When people brought a fight to your house, so you should just stay and watch them annihilate the entire of your clan. It's only a fool will watch. We defended ourselves and this attitude of heroism has been passed down from generations to the present generation.
The reason igbo don't fear anyone or anywhere in the world. They go and conquer.
Ojukwu alone funded the war.
Now if it happens again, though we don't want that. But ibos are wealthier and in all parts of the world. We have enough people that can fund whatever weapons we would need all around the world. So if we want to flatten Nigeria into a desert it won't take us a year.
So make una mind una self.
Just like the whole world is now looking for Russia (A Super power) to flatten Ukraine abi?. Better be careful of your day dreaming. And you think other tribes are poor & do not have people all the world over to assist their people in times of genocidal war abi? Always chest beating. That's why your tribe is hated around the world.

This your comment reminded me of what OBJ spoke about in Anambra state when he was invited by Soludo for his one year in office. OBJ said when he appointed Okonjo and Soludo as Finance minister and CBN governor respectively, he was visited by some notable Yoruba figure who told him that he was giving juicy positions to the Igbos and sidelining the Yorubas! undecided

Now, let me inform you before you start your igbophobic jab on me. I am not Igbo! Infact, I'm not even from the Southeast region of the country.

But, it's unfortunate the level at which Nigeria as a country as descended to the level that we no longer see ourselves as Nigerians but Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba (who I sometimes call the three unfortunate major tribe), who are the cause of the division we have today in the country.

What has where a man/woman comes from as to do with service to ones country? Little wonder the western world sees us as confused bunch.

It's quite unfortunate!
My comment has nothing to do with nepotism.

Obasanjo never saw anything good in his own people, he feels threatened that any other person from his tribe will usurp his ego fueled status as a foremost Yoruba man.

His administration did little to elevate the southwest, rather he denigrated the southwest by abandoning projects that would have brought the much needed prosperity back to our economy.

Can anyone point to a single project initiated and completed by Obasanjo in his tenure for the benefit of the southwest and that of his PDP predecessors because we understand that he was ruling by proxy.

Obasanjo will only be remembered for his selfishness, because we will ensure that proper record of his story is kept for generations unborn

General Oladapo Diya is dead so let us mourn him.
Whenever it’s OBJ’s turn we will further this discourse

Sad.

Many will remember him for the drama during Abacha's time.
He was one of those who stood up to Abacha and called him out.

But, I'd remember him for being my Landlord for the most part of the early 2000s in Lagos.
I was a tenant at one of his buildings behind Alade market, Ikeja and throughout my long years tenantship, this man never raised the rent by a single dime.
Neither did we see him come around for once to make noise over anything.
He would quickly send the maintenance crew to fix whatever problem wherein anyone complained.

Sir, you were a rare breed. I salute you, Sir.

Good you mentioned hated around the world.
We are all around the world. They can't hate without a reason and that reason is because of prosperity. It's God's gift to the tribe. Entrepreneurship. Whenever one goes to a community and becomes prosperous more than the indigenes , hate will rise due to envy.
Read the Bible Genesis 26: the whole chapter you will understand . Isaac sowed and prospered and the people of that land hated him because of his prosperity.
Prosperity always comes with persecution.

Oladipo Diya satisfies the definition of a coward.

A coward is a person who is contemptibly lacking in the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things.(Noun)

excessively afraid of danger or pain. (Adjective).

If you guys are lacking in English comprehension, that is not my problem.

An experience of what happened between Late Diya and one of his schoolmate taught me the lesson to hit the bull eye to prepare and answer life changing question without flinching.
One of Diya's school mates after staying so many months in Abuja to meet with him, because he had an important project proposal that will interest Diya , and he was in the capacity to approve it.
The opportunity came, upon meeting Diya in his office, after much friendly banters, he threw a life changing question to that his school mate.

What can I do for you?

Rather than the school mate to discuss why he came to visit him.

He requested for tea, chaai! tea and biscuits.

Late Diya waited for him to savour the tea, it was during this waiting time, that late Diya was called by CIC Late Gen Abacha, and it was that day, Late Diya was accused of planning a phantom coup.
Meanwhile the man was waiting for Late Diya to come back, this happened not to be, he was thrown out like a common thief and was likely manhandled as an accomplish.
Are you prepared to answer a life changing question?
How much do you want?
What can I do for you?
How can I assist you?
Will your answer be cold water, tea or anything?

Babaibe:
He should have waited for Muritala now. Only a coward run when he sees death from far. Despite crying, Diya stood with his men even in death. He ordered his men Major Fadipe and others never to attack but surrender to the Nigerian army. He understood the ethics of the profession, and will not lead young men to an early grave for personal gain or selfish interest. That is the true definition of bravery. Good luck Jonathan became a hero despite many lapses in his government because he accepted defeat even as incumbent president. He never put lives of south-south youth on the line for selfish gain. Igbos from history are coward, Aguiyi ironsi bleep like goat when killed, Ojukwu ran away after wasting so many lives in the east, mind you the whole of Nigerian never had a feel of the war. In fact, Yakubu Gowon got married in this period.Peter Obi and Datti will soon run to UK for assylum leaving Obi supporters to continue killing themselves every monday in the name of Biafran. All I knew is that any region under President Bola Tinubu who disturb the peace of Nigerians or international reputation shall be severly dealt with by the Nigerians army. Safety of every region is very important to this new administration. Ojukwu a perfect description of coward man.Even before his death, his wife became a cheap slut to his kinsmen. Another show of cowardness.
Stop try to misinform people by the time Ojukwu left muritala was removed. Mind you muritala escaped death from Biafran elite squad sent by Ojukwu in Abagana. Muritala was removed after that disaster in Abagana, his wife never became any shut to his kinsmen, rather it is your mother that was a cheap slut before the death of your father.

Ironsi never begged he died with honor, you are only pained because you cannot stand the shame of hearing that your kinsmen was a coward

A very lucky man. God gave him extra 25yrs more if not he should have been dead in 1998.
This is one of the very few people that enjoyed Nigeria when it was still worth country and they ensured they enjoyed it to date.

The truth is, most people who condemn Abacha never looked at his good side as a leader. He looted and did very well. He never travelled out of the country
madridguy:
I keep telling people, Abacha looted money but far better than those that took over after him. Many loot name after him after his death is just cover up since he's no more. May Allah be pleased with his soul.
