There's no subsidy removal anywhere, government are just planning to increase pump price.

It's surprising that we don't have refinery to cater for our consumption despite billions of dollars spent on our refinery

The FG is a scam. They will loot the treasury empty and the people of Nigeria will not benefit anything. No salary increments. Nothing positive

If there is 24 hours electricity, nobody will care much about the price of petrol. You buy fuel for your cars, home generators and work place generators, absolute madness.
yea we buy it for more than that price abroad but atleast it’s just for cars.and we don’t have hopeless traffics so our fuel last.

Dangote refinery should be fully ready before government remove subsidy.

Imagine, the crude oil we have here, we take it outside the country to refine, then they sell it back to us. angry sad

Once dangote refinery is ready, govt should try to use the subsidy money or by all means make all available refinery to be active and functional.

Are you saying that as a country Nigeria can't build a refinery? What is happening to Nigeria? If an individual can, why can't a country? GEJ, Buhari, Obj, all the heads of state alive or dead will never go Scot free.

Salary will be increased

Saying salary increment is easy but before we shout further, what percentage of Nigerians is gainfully employed?

Will rhe increment be for only public or both public and private sector employees?

Can the private sector be able to sustain the wage increment without going bankrupt or shutting down?

How about the unemployed, the aged, etc?

How will they cope or what will be done to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal on them?

These are some of the questions that needs to be answered before we talk of salary increasement.

-See you. You think equipments, tools and the expertise needed to run a 21st century refinery will not be sourced with hard currencies?
-I put it to you that Dangote products will be more expensive to buy than foreign products. The insurance that company will be paying to run such a business in that volatile environment would be humongous.

The issue of power now lies in the hand of governor each state. They should come out with policy and plans that will guarantee 24hrs supply of power in each state.

Salary will be increased

If salaries (minimum wage) is raised without reducing the total package of public office holders in the local, state and federal governments, then workers will be worse off, as they have been since the military coup of January 1966 scattered the First Republic.

My only question is this: since something similar to this was done in the power sector, have we recorded any tangible progress in the power sector? The only progress I have seen is increase in energy bill with no increase in power supply.

With those parasites sucking the country still out there, the subsidy money might be used for very little to nothing apart from being stolen.

Funny thing is there is no real savings from removing subsidy, as we are borrowing to pay the damned thing! It's like someone borrowing from Mr B to pay a debt to Mr A, yet everyone expects his saving from paying Mr A to be spent on doing business.

Dangote refinery does not affect the price of fuel post subsidy. It will only make it readily available.

Dangote even advised the Nigeria should remove subsidy if not he will export his product if we cant buy at the price he wants.

that is the point, they still wont put the money to good use, the best option is remove subsidy and increase workers salary.

Honestly, the subsidy of 4 trillion naira has been a waste these past few years. I would have rathered they used the money to build mass transit regional train networks so we have rails linking all the SW, SS,SE, NC, NE& NW states. Then individual states also have to invest in mass transit. Also investing in power will cut a huge chunk of our petrol consumption.
