You have missed it completely. The real issue here is the failure of the APC machinery (by extension Bola Tinubu) to effectively sell the narrative of national healing and reconciliation. It goes beyond issuing watery press releases and half-hearted gestures. You cannot tell people to move on without proper closure.

What team Tinubu should have done was to pull a page out of the playbook of the late Umar Yar'adua. Openly admit the election process was flawed. Promise to review the process for the better once sworn in and make a big show of reaching out to other contestants to promote peace.

This is would have done the trick, after tactically rigging the election. But insisting the process was free and fair, and then telling people to heal and move on portrayed insincerity. The question of legitimacy is what Tinubu should focus on, not this propaganda slug fest.

Let's be realistic. 2023 election had a distinctly different flavour to that Yar Adua won. This 2023 election had religious, ethnic and very personal toxicity fueling it.

Tinubu cannot and must not give any ground that can be used against him. Especially by desperados seeking his disqualification in Court because of civil forfeiture that led to no criminal conviction many decades ago.

The healing begins with Tinubu hitting the ground running and leading well. Not by adopting standards of civility other are desperately waiting to exploit and perverse. Anyone asking Tinubu to take a knife to a gun fight is not sincere,
