But on the other hand, this move will help people in Nigeria as there won't be that much of a difference between someone earning #500,000 in Nigeria and the one earning $3000 abroad

Unfortunately Naira would probably just get worse alongside the dollar.

Unfortunately we could get more things when exchange rate was less than 200/$, for instance, small tiger generator (I better pass my neighbor) used to cost between 6,500 and 8k, which was about 50usd at an exchange rate of 145/$. Today that same generator is about 50k which is over 50usd at current exchange rate. Cement sells for 500 about the same time but now, it's about 4800/bag.
So in a nutshell we get less things for the higher exchange rate than when it was lower, because prices have changed to reflect current market reality.

This is poorly crafted and thought out. If dollar goes down, it means the currency is ubiquitous and people can actually access it without paying through their nose. This will balance economy and production cost, reversing the old prices of commodities to match fair purchasing power.
