How can someone know if application has left Lagos please? To know if they have sent it to foreign office?

It means your file was opened in November, your documents have been sent to Germany and also to the verification office in Lagos. It's strange though, because many of us that our verification was initiated in November got verification complete email last week.

Some ABHs don't give any info, they refer you to the embassy. If that's your case, you can send email zzVISABVA@bva.bund.de or call their phone number. If you are lucky, you will get a response.

Good morning nairalanders, please I need help. I got verification complete mail 3rd week in January & I was able to apply for my sons’ German passport & I’ve received it also. However, till date, neither my husband nor I have received a mail regarding my process.

1. The lawyer would call your spouse via her mobile number used on the application form

2. He visits the institute where your spouse attends that is Primary, Secondary, University.

he also visit the Court where your marriage certificate is issued.

3. He interviews your spouse parents, siblings


4. I have no clue what you are trying to ask

5. It's all depends on who is in charge of your Interview, there is no exact yard Stick for that.

6. It does matter, refer to answer 5.

I think ABH process are slightly different in each state. My husband works and lives in a small town and all the foreigners, especially Nigerians can be finger counted.
Why not contact them to know what's going on with your documents and your spouse's visa process.

please is it possible to travel out to Germany without interview from Nigeria, Because a friend of mine told me that one can send is passport through DHL to Germany and they will process everything for him over there, that is work visa

Mail and call from ABH to confirm my identity February 2022

Verification complete mail July 2022 (asking for more documents) did not pay for verification don't know why. I was still a student as of the time of interview.

Dead silence since then

Reconfirmation of Status by ABH March 2023
Approval mail March 2023

Visa on passport April 2023

Arrival in Germany April 2023 as an Unaccompanied minor.

Little background. Single mother family reunion visa.

Moved to Germany as a student and switched to working visa in 2022. As a single mother it's really really difficult as they expect you to bring the tooth of a sleeping white tiger.

In the case of national visas, the time limit for remonstration is one year from the date of notification of the rejection decision, provided that it does not contain instructions on how to appeal.


In the case of notifications with instructions on how to appeal, the time limit is one month. The notice of rejection sent by post or e-mail shall be deemed to have been notified on the third day after it was sent.

After expiry of the above-mentioned deadlines, a new visa application must be submitted

It's not possible, even to send Passport across boarder is not allowed.

So don't be deceived. Apply directly via the embassy website and wait jeje.

customary court issued certificate is acceptable. Also, if a licensed church issues a certificate it is also highly recognised.

Lol. I think most of us are in the waiting period. Either waiting for embassy, lawyer or ABH. It’s pretty tense and nervy. I had hoped my wife’s visa would be out by Easter and we would celebrate together but embassy get another idea. Hopefully the next few weeks would see further visa approvals

Thank you for your response Sir.It's so unnerving. As for me,there has been no response since my appointment in January. It's been 4months. No lawyer visitation, no word at all. Please anyone that finally succeeds should please update us or give us timeline make we take hold body and keep hope alive. Una sleep well.

That is a very long time to not have received any update. Has your spouse been contacted by the ABH? A friend of mine is also waiting for a lawyer and spouse interview was also in October, but he’s been contacted by ABH during the time.
