Hello friends.

I woke up this morning to discover a dead cockroach in my pot of soup. Immediately I notice it I quickly removed it and boil the soup for 10 mins . The issue is I am not ready to dispose it because there is still much protein it. To get a new soup in this harsh economy is very costly. I need advice to avoid getting sick. Kindly help a brother.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cockroaches do not bite. They can, however, scratch you with their heavy leg spines. And because they carry bacteria, a cockroach scratch could potentially become infected.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), cockroaches carry bacteria that, if deposited on food, can cause salmonella, staphylococcus, and streptococcus. According to the World Health organization (WHO), cockroaches have been known to play a role as carriers of intestinal diseases, such as dysentery,  diarrhea,  cholera, and typhoid fever.

My candid advice is that you do away with your bacteria infested pot of soup irrepective of the the protein in it because HEALTH is WEALTH.

If actually u did boil it for 10mins, then the soup is good to go. 10 min boiling is more than enough to kill any germ in the bastard insect. I have eaten such before. Mine was even worse sef, and I did not die.

It normally happens when you cook or steam your, open it to cool off and forget to cover it when it has cooled down

Nothing will happen, except you mind will disturb u all through today and perhaps tomorrow that you ate a cockroach infested food grin grin grin

Boil the Soup well , make it very hot for long minutes without burning it, you will kill all the germs in it. dont waste yor money by throwing it away.
People that eat from restaurants , only if they knew how many flies and roaches they took out of their food before they were served

Bro, you're complaining about losing the protein you bought despite the bitting inflation but you disposed the one God sent to augment your soup.

I have seen videos of people eating cockroaches but before you consume your soup remember roaches live and do their business in the dirtiest of places. Boiling the soup might not be able to kill any foreign ingredients the roach might have added.

If it was me i will still eat the soup after removing the roach and the soup around where it died. Our people say 'dirty nor dey kill african man', do the experiment.

Even if I prepared the soup with the last money I have NOTHING will make me eat it, I would rather starve.

I hate cockroaches with passion, I can smell cockroaches from 100miles away......I can't sleep in same room with a cockroach, I must make sure I kill it because their smell won't make me sleep.

Same with wall geckos, I hate that creature. Whenever I spot any in my house I must kill it before I have rest of mind.......Very irritating creatures, I wonder why they were even created in the first place.

Take the cockroach to the hospital let collect it's blood samples to check for infections. If there's none then you can eat the soup.
There's nothing wrong with the cockroach blood. It is its body that is polluted. Open soakaway chamber at the back of your house, you will see 1000s of cockroaches hanging under the slab. That's where they stay during the day and make their way into your kitchen at night. Sh1t body inside your soup.

My guy, provided you are human , you mind must worry you. Sometimes you may become extra conscious when eating thinking you will eventually eat or swallow an egg, pupa or lava of the said cockroach.

Unless you are not the one that saw it, else your mind must worry a little. It's a human thing

Cockroaches hang inside soakaway pit or chamber in your backyard. Open it you will see 1000s there. That's why it hard to eliminate them from the home. You kill 2, 5 more come from that soakaway. That's their village.

What a question! So you can actually consider the cost of a pot of soup when your life and health is involved? Really?!
Re: Cockroach Entered Into My Pot Of Soup. Is It Still OK To Eat? by Itidicious: 3:26pm On Apr 09, 2023
Don't eat it bro. It is never hygienic. When cockroaches is in distress they release Black watery substance from their anus. This is what stains bathroom sometimes especially when you spray insecticide on them. For the cockroach to die inside the pot means they have release Such dirty liquid into the soup.

I comot am and eat after warming it. Nothing happened.

But if it's wall gecko (Omole), abeg throw the soup away o; if you eat am, na die o.

Always cover your soup with a cloth! Just wrap it around the pot of soup; no cockroach would get in.

That is how my guy lose guard and left the pot on the ground and they have all this palour dogs in the house. When he came back the dogs were already feeling themselves with the nutritious food(I don't blame them). My guy still ate it like that o, removed the top and wacked it full.
