Apc is trying to rely on technicalities in the face of raw facts and evidence of massive rigging and irregularities? Kolewerk! |

Penguin2:First of all, this is not yet their defence. This is just a Preliminary Objection to get the case dismissed on point of law. They are yet to respond to the substantive issues of the Petition as filed by Peter Obi. Wait until they respond to Shettima's qualification, Tinubu's drug, 25% at FCT and rigging issues. Be sure APC may file Cross-petition to challenge Obi's results in South East too. |

Penguin2:Obi joined LP outside the timeframe of the electoral act provision. I believe you know the right thing but the hatred in you won’t make you say the truth. |

That a party should submit their register doesnt mean the party should close their register |

Clevite:See, let APC file cross-petition to challenge Obi’s results in the Southeast. We want the election in Southeast nullified and redone. But this time, we want electoral materials to arrive in time to every polling unit in all 5 states of Southeast. And results MUST be transmitted from polling units. I swear to you, you would be marveled at the actual votes Obi will get. The votes of Southeast were suppressed, systematically and otherwise, just to reduce Obi’s numbers. The Southeast voted nobody else. |

Roboto11:As a senior lawyer I will go with APC defence. Even b4 the election I noticed obi was not qualified to contest but the parties PDP and APC allowed him contest as to use it against him at the tribunal should such arise. Those commenting and saying the APC defence is watery should prove to us that it is watery. According to the electoral Act 2022, obi was never qualified to contest in the first place. Obi came 3rd in the election and as such ought to have joined PDP and Atiku in his petition. To me APC has a good defense here but it's left the tribunal to decide. I urge obi supporters to comment with facts and not sentiments as usual. APC defense it a TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT for Obi |

Clevite:Populism of the blind and headstrong slant have no place in the dispensation of Justice. Peter Obi was a member of LP within the 30 day period prior to the election. If he had stayed in PDP Tinubu would have found it near impossible to win. |

OfficialP:In law you can’t build something on nothing. If APC can argue their case to a logic point, the tribunal will have no choice. As it stands now Obi’s name is not on the LP register submitted to Inec 30 days before the primary election. |

Clevite:You know the Law! Well said! The preliminary objections are quite punchy - sammarily: 1. Peter Obi does not have locus to contest the election and bring the petition at all; 2. failure to add Atiku/PDP to the petition is a huge miss, as PO can’t be declared winner if at all he is successful without first discountenancing Atiku’s votes; 3. no pleadings on polling units disruptions individually; and 4. PO’s petition is fraught with pre-election matters - and the Tribunal itself does not have jurisdiction to hear the matter. Law is interesting! Let’s see how this place out and watch out for the Defence & potential cross petition. |

The game is getting interesting. I cannot wait for the full litigation to commence. APC is making this appeal about Peter Obi. If the party agrees to pick him as the presidential candidate with unopposed candidates, then why should that be the concern of APC? Besides, political parties win elections in Nigeria, not individuals. They didn't react to the claim that Bola Tinubu is an ex-druglord. I guess they intentionally ignored it or reporter didn't mention it. |
