I meant LISA. Typo

I see... If you want better rates, you might wanna consider Junior ISA but read the terms well cos you might be penalized if you access the funds before they're 18 or so, don't really know

Hi everyone,

So quick one. Landlord issued a notice two months ago for a friend to leave their property at the end of the six months initial tenancy. No reasons given.

The letter issued bore a date 7 days after the normal rent payment. Say rent is due on the 10th, the letter said they have to leave on the 16th.

So, their new place will be ready on the 17th and they called the letting agency to inform them of what they can do about staying a day more. The agency then stated that they'll have to pay for the 7 days extra. Okay, my friend said they'd just leave on the previous date as the letter stated. But the agency still said they'd normally have to pay for the six days extra which was mentioned on the letter as their last date.

NB: the letter never mentioned that they would expect any form of payment for those six days.

My friend assumed that was just a free window for them to move out. Meanwhile, they found other properties that would have allowed them to move in earlier but they decided to wait cos they assumed they had to see their current tenancy through and probably wouldn't get a refund if they left earlier.

Very weird situation and they're sad about it.

BRP ALERT

Timeline:
Online Application 21st March.
Biometrics 29th March.
Decision reached 5th April.
BRP received 9th of April [Easter]
Visa Type; Dependent.

Well...I didn't feel the type of tension I felt 2015 when I was applying for Australian Student Visa which I did with my sincere heart oOo and even paid up to 2MIL for school fees yet and got denied.

I came to NL and promised them that since they never want me as a student, that I will come as one of them without giving them my kobo.

*it ended in praise. May the New FoundLand favour me and my household.

Hi my good people, I just moved into a house and got water bill £754.90 per year (£62 per month) which I feel is quite high. Its a 3 bedroom in Cardiff. There's no meter so it's rateable value. Abeg is there any way I can bring this down?

To my ancestors in the house,

Please I need your advice l, I know as a student working more than 20 hours is not allowed except during break. I am hustling and i need money, if I work more than 20 hours for some few weeks will I get into any trouble?

Also will I have problems getting my post work graduate visa later on?

Someone told me, in so far as I don't do more than 80 hours a month there is no problem. Is this true?

Please I need you guys experienced wisdom.

Guide me on the way🙏

Boss, don't work more than 20 hours per week. The rule is not 80 hours per month. It's 20 hours per week.

I know of cases where slight variations above 20 hours per week didn't hinder getting other visas. By slight I mean like 30 minutes or 1 hour here and there due to genuine shift overruns, but actively 'hustling' and working way more than the stipulated maximum is recipe for stories that touch.

I understand it may be very hard but please find another way. Don't risk the long-term for the short-term.

Definitely it is standard £314. The actual fact is that I believe YouKay is proFamily and they usually fast track family visas quicker b4 13th day from the biometrics date.
I was a doubting Thomas not until today.
My wife told me it would be out this week, and I was quantifying it with Yankee & Aussie time-frames.

Probably by downsizing.
Your bill would likely be higher if you were on a meter. Speak to the water company if you are experiencing significant hardship making the payments, or see if a different payment plan might suit you better e.g. quarterly instalments

You know that working more hours would be unlawful, so as difficult as it might be, it is best that you stick to the rules.

Apart from the HGV drivers job, which entails a lot of sleeping on the road, washing up in petrol station bathrooms, or sometimes pooing in bags, there is an absolutely balanced work-life balance for plumbers and the rest who are self-employed and who a) take jobs at their own discretion, and b) work at their own pace.

Please can trade test certificate get me a job in the uk from nigeria?
I have certificate in plumbing electrical installations and solar/inverter installation and repairs.

Which of these trades have high chance of getting sponsorship?

There's a certain Sukkot guy or woman on a thread on Front page dishing out terrible misinformation about living in UK and even Canada. The fellow is saying a lot of lies and nonsense. I don't even have energy to engage at all.

Justwise I think you should visit the thread and see for yourself.

Your friend's assumption is not realistic.

S/he could have reached out to the agent/landlord to clarify the leave date and assumed grace window. Only what's written can be referenced.

From my experience, s/he would have to pay for the extra days spent outside of the tenancy agreement or payment window. Often, agents will propose to take the fee for those days from the deposit.

Your friend should have a reasonable conservation with the landlord. Negotiate the extension terms. Everybody wan make money. No free food for Freetown.

To be fair, it's not beans and bread to get onto the mortgage ladder ooo.

Most people here are barely 1-2 years in the country, still trying to make a sense of their new realities. Make we no overdrive and overkill our people. We're all at different stage of the social and economic ladder.

While I understand your position, I'm not sure it's apt for the OP's narration.

Why? Freedom of opinion/speech. Plus not everything he says is inaccurate. Sometimes it's helpful for people to hear an alternative view to balance out the narrative of " just come and hustle. You'll be able to save thousands of pounds and become a millionaire in 2 months!" - (on £10 p/h)

Nah... I read from page 1 to 5 and you would see he is not in anyway being objective. The comments are not a true picture. He exaggerated a lot of things and clearly was out to scare people from going abroad.

Did you read what he said about a doctor's earning in UK

Junior doctors (FY 1) earn less than £30k basic - why do you think they're striking (again)?

They only start earning a reasonable salary from registrar level upwards.

You might be able to save a fair amount because of your circumstances (e.g. no kids yet?) But for a lot of immigrants who have more than one young child and earning around minimum wage - the reality is that they will likely struggle and this is not helped by unrealistic posts of how a family can pay rent of £300 for a 3 bed house and £200 a month for food and have £1000 savings at the end of the month
