Hello mothers I am new here and registering for Oct, I thank God for d journey so far, but last two weeks while I went for antenatal, I was told that my cervical length was 2.9cm instead of 4 or 4.5cm, the gynea said though it's not an emergency till it's 2.5cm but advised I do cerclage Incase it spins out of control, I asked if there is any drug that I can take to help elongate the cervix and he prescribed Duphaston morning and NYT.
Now my worry is that, when ever I didn't take the Duphaston as I am supposed to take it, I would start having the feeling of my cervix opening and when I take the drug it would stop, everything would be alright, I am confused if I should go for cerclage or continue seriously with the drug, coz even with the cerclage I would still take the drug or I should simply take the drug.
Those that are on cerclage is it holding for u guys? Abeg help a concerned mum, it's my first time posting here but I am dying in worry, and put my name for October.

To be on a safe side, just go for the cerclage and continue with you drugs... You will be alright las Las. May the Lord see us through it all.amen.

Please is it normal for the baby not to be very active at 34 weeks? I feel his movements all the time but not the type that we see on YouTube.. The type that really shakes the whole bump.

Omo I’m in this same predicament. Can’t walk, can’t lie down, backache and the baby pressing down on my bladder 😭

I can't wait. I have started my countdown already. Na my tummy dey push me up and down now.
The annoying part is waking up every 2hrs to urinate. I wish I can be sleeping in the toilet.

Since you still feel his movements, there is nothing to worry about. Don't follow everything you see online.

Just endure. Things will get better in the second trimester.

I understand, I have seen one squeeze out the juice with little water. And I have seen one where she put the ewedu leaves in the blender.
So it will be great to see from mums here on exactly the method that worked. That way other pregnant women will have something to see on nairaland.

Good morning mama's, I've been at the hospital since last night as instructed by the Dr. I'm 37 3days. Like I said I've been having contraction since last week Monday & becoming stronger though going on & off. Dr. said they'll induce wt cathetar & observe for 12 hrs b4 they can know if it works or progress to tablet.
BUT...
my fear is d Dr said if it doesn't work it's CS. God knows I DON'T want CS because I still want to try to get pregnant early next year.
Pls what shud I do? What is the accuracy of inducing? I mean the percentage of it working? I'm really confused. Pls advice me. I'm confused

@iamfertile; You are strong, you are beautiful and you've got this.Your body will birth when ready.You are not helpless , we are here.

I totally understand what you are going through and I have been there. I have said it over and over again Hospitals do not have much to offer. If your water has not broken yet, please believe me when I say you can leave the hospital and return back home.Ask questions about your dilation, your amiotic fluid level and the baby heart rate. If everything is fine, you can leave and continue to contract at home.You are not in active labour yet and your body needs time that is all.

Please if everything is fine medically, go and labour at home. The thing some of us labour for days before reaching full dilation. And it takes a while for our baby to engage. Hospital does not have that patience.

I repeat your baby might not just be ready yet, contractions is your womb getting ready to birth. Sometimes it takes days sometimes it takes couple of weeks. Manage pain with calm environment, Hypnobirthing videos on YouTube and paracetamol. And continue your exercise.

Tablet under the tongue and in my vagina. On and off contractions for 5hours, active labor for 1hr 30 mins

By God s grace, you'll be fine, but since your water has not broke yet, I don't think there's any cause for alarm. You can still relax and manage the pain till you'll be fully dilated.
It is only when water break that baby may be unsafe due to low/no amniotic fluid.

Hospital will always want it fast and money making, I guess you use private hospital.

Just relax and make yourself active, if you can, dance or any other gentle physical activity. God gat you. The baby is blessed
