Primarily digitisation. The trend predates the current economic woes. - https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-8740/

Branches have steadily been receiving less footfall so many are becoming superfluous.

Understandable

Many job losses for bank workers coming then

Means the digital banks already had the edge from the start

Not sure about it not being taxed but it adds a little to total earnings. Lowest I've seen is 30 and highest Β£72

See my friend keep quiet if you don't know what you are saying, if you have it easy in life most people don't.

The Chinese, Koreans and Co. get loans from their government to come and study. In this UK financial crisis how do you want to cope if you are handling your accommodation, transport and other fees if you are doing just 20 hours, especially if you are staying in London or Manchester.

We as Nigerians, we are hardworking and if the job is there we will do it and make our money to survive.

The funny thing is that most employers are not even happy with this 20 hours rule, because they are looking for workers but they are limited because of this 20 hours rule.

I met a British man one time that was complaining about how most of their citizens don't want to come out to work anymore, they'd rather work from home instead. He said in his city, shops and the mall closes by 4pm because they don't have people to employ for evening shifts and what he appreciate about Nigerians is that they are always willing to work.

I heard if you scale through during PSW application they will come for you when applying for ILR. Is this true ?

Please how did you go about signing up? It keeps giving me error messages and I have been unable to fill the first three columns (Name, phone and email) Not sure I'm doing something wrong.

Try to use NIN instead of BVN. I think that's what I did differently

Unrelated but does anyone know why UK bank branches keep closing down?

More digitization to reduce costs and go the way of banks like Monzo or recession?

It's associated with cost and lack of patronage.........

And ability/ease to offer same services, digitally......

Customers can bank from home ...... Banker's can work from home ........πŸ˜πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

How long would it take to convert a teller, to a telephone customer service agent.........πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Agreeably, not all of them would be absorbed.... Some would accept redundancies, others would move on ......😜

Hello everyone.

I want to ask a question please no judging. I recently moved here on student visa with my family. I discovered that I am pregnant now and we already have 2 little boys. I am so scared and worried. I haven't even started work as we only recently settled down. We have only been here 3 months. Please anyone ever been in this situation? How did they navigate it?

Or what advice can anyone give me please. I am so down and feeling defeated already. Please advise me.

Thank you.
Joy

Hello House, I have been on the market for a car, and based on my budget I have seen a really nice Vaxhall Astra 2010 for 2,500 pounds. However, my cousin is against me buying it as he said it is a Cat S car and no company would agree to insure it because when we called the number on the page, the seller confirmed it and said he got it as a part exchange and there is no engineering report or repair document for the car. But he told us that the MOT and other things were all up to date. Following that, I called 2 insurance companies from comparethemarket who both said they wouldnt insure it as a Cat S.

I am asking if there are any recommendations for companies I could try. I really like the car because of its relative size. I have 3 kids and so most of the Astra type size of cars are currently over 4k, which is just totally beyond me at the moment and due to work and school runs, I am under a lot of pressure to get a car quickly.

Please, I would appreciate all the advice I can get. Thanks!!!

The only time I would advise you to buy a cat s vehicle...... Is only if you can see the post accident damage.......

Cat S - Simply means vehicle was structurally damaged and BER ...........

Another car is always available around the corner..... Never get emotional about a vehicle purchase, but realistic .........

An honda jazz, would comfortably sit 7 (although illegal) and the extra 2 (must be kids)........πŸ˜‚πŸ˜œ

Not for long journeys.....πŸ€‘

For those who recently took or in the process of a mortgage / remortgaging and with the likely increase of bank rate to 4.50 in May, what interest rates did you get / are getting? Shei na to gamble on two / five years or even tracker 😁?

I see Llyods bank app allows you to cash a check by taking a photo of it and send....they don't need bank branches but again, for the elderly who are not tech savvy.

Not aware of any biometrics being done online. As far as I know one has to go into the commission for capture.

SpicyMimi:

When did you submit and how come your biometric is May? I think people do biometrics online now.
