The Penguin teaser trailer

I'm honestly not sure who asked for this...
They could have as well just made a crime series with any other Character...

I'll predict it here
They're just banking on the Batman name and they'll probably save a pointless Batman short appearance for fan service at the end of the season

The exact same thing was said about better call Saul, I have no doubt tho, Matt Reeves is still the director

Yea... Aegon's Conquest shoulda been the first.... The story is too top tier to ignore. I don't really mind if they do it before or after. My own is they must adapt that show. I also have this burning itch to see Valyria during their peak before their destruction.

Have you read the book?

Have you read the book?

Yep. Not it's entirety but I've read Aegon's Conquest and some of his son's exploits.
And a bit of other parts of Fire and Blood (Dance of the Dragons).

Why don't you watch the docu series first before rambling about its theories you saw in a trailer.
That's why it's a docu for a reason.

Going with the antecedents of how documentaries work and basing off what it'll be when historical accounts such as this is well known to have different school of thought. Basing off how a docu is by a trailer seem redundant especially when it's coming from a single commentator. It's a touchy subject and hotly debated topic. In the league with the "Jesus was Black" talk. Theories like this also has some solid backing to support it. At times facts are updated based on newfound evidences from historical events and fossils.

Who knows whether they have new info we don't have yet. ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ™„ We learn new things everyday.

Queen Cleopatra was Greek. A bona fide Caucasian Greek to be exact.

The evidence is conclusive.

There has been nothing in mainstream Egyptology to remotely suggest that Cleopatra was black. Nothing new to that effect has emerged in recent years either.

It is premium BS to suggest that this is "touchy" or "hotly debated" or in anyway related to the wacko "Jesus was Black" theories.

In fact, Ptolemaic Egypt is described in history circles as a Greek civilization. For more in-depth information, look up the "Hellenistic Period".

The truly astonishing part is that this is being billed as a documentary. Not a fictional story loosely based on an historical account. An actual effing documentary. I find it insulting.

If a filmmaker tried to make a documentary about Lady Slessor and depicts her as a Black African woman, what would be your response? Would you describe it as "touchy" or "hotly debated"? What about Lady Khama?

If skin color is so important, there are other Egyptian Queens that fit the bill. Queen Nefertiti and Pharaoh Hatshepsut come to mind. Pharaoh Hatshepsut dressed like a man with fake beards according to some accounts. That could fit their trans ideology or whatever. But they had to go pick an unmistakable Greek icon to make a mockery of black excellence.

About the bolded, you may be on to something.

The African Queens docuseries is supposed to comprise four parts.

The first, Njinga, has already aired to virtually zero fanfare. Angolan Queen played by a black actress.

Then they switched things up with Cleopatra. Deliberately adopt an historically inaccurate casting choice. And voila, it goes viral.

I'm not even their target audience. Yet, I'm like "wElL aCtUaLlY"...

What made this episode stand out that much?
basically, season 4 had multiple episodes using different creative directional styles to tell it's story.

For this episode, the entire episode took place in like 2 adjorning rooms...and focused solely on the conversations between the characters...almost like different therapy sessions that go into the psych of different characters

And it was directed like a stage play, it was divided into different acts and scenes...
Even the way the camera pans across the top from one room to the next...

It's something best experienced...words cannot do it justice

S4 of Mr Robot had some of the best directed episodes in fiction...there was one episode where only 2 sentences were spoken throughout the episode...1 at the beginning, and one at the end...
The way it was done was so brilliant

It's Hollywood mate. They can be creative with "facts" and "historical accuracy", when it serves their interests.

Lol, of course I'm very well versed in Egyptian Hellenistic age and the Ptolemaic Era inheriting Alexander's exploits.

What I'm saying is I'm simply not judging a docu by a trailer just yet till I confirm any bs they're saying watching it fully and seeing if they have historical evidence or not.

What I don't get about this woke series, are the doing this to win award? is it a layed out rule for the entrainment?industry especially in America, or it is a personal stuff?.

Using succession as a case study, I don't think I have seen any LGBTV stuff from season 1 to the current season ( I stand to be corrected). Secondly, all the major casts are white. Even with this they always gulp the awards at the Emmys.

Is there something I am omitting because I don't understand.

Sometimes, it's an LGBTQIA+ and/or minority creator drawing inspiration from their lived experience.
Other times, it's pandering or virtue signaling from the company/studio.
