Hi,

Do I get a travel insurance in Nigeria myself or do I need to get a travel health insurance from France?

Hello NLs. I am looking to travel to France this summer with my kids. My husband is sponsor.

1, Please, what documents would be need from him?
Please kindly answer.
Go back a couple of pages and read through as this has been shared multiple times. If you have specific questions after this, raise them.

2, It is only France we intend to visit. Is there a difference between France Schengen Visa and France tourist Visa?

As copied from the official website (https://france-visas.gouv.fr/en/web/france-visas/tourism-private-stay):

Your visa
If the duration of your stay does not exceed 90 days per 180-day period, you will be issued a short-stay uniform Schengen visa or national visa depending on your destination.
If your presence in France requires an airport stopover, please ensure that you do not need an airport transit visa.
If the total duration of your stay exceeds 90 days, you will be issued a long-stay national visa.

3, If yes, can someone show me the link please?

Thanks you all.

Italy in particular seems notorious for long processing times and/or holding on to passports for longer periods than other Schengen countries.

If you read a couple of pages back for testimonials from successful applicants and/or visit the Italy visa thread, you'll notice a pattern with very few comments about them processing within the stated timelines.

I submit my passport at the Italy embassy since 10th of march, they have not call me for pick-up yet. Please what is normal timeline for italy visa application?

Hi all,

I’m very worried about something, don’t know if anyone has been in such fix before.

So I applied for Uk visa on 12th and applied for Italy visa on 14th. I paid for keep my passport with UK in order to be able to submit for Italy visa processing.

1. I didn’t know that I will have to resubmit my passport when Uk wants ti make a decision, I thought they’ll just courier the vignette to me to stick on by myself.

Fine, I found that out on processing day and thought okay I’ll just resubmit when Italy own comes back.

But now I have found out that Italy processing particularly takes forever and apparently if you don’t resubmit your passport within a specific time frame for UK decision making, they will deny you. 😭

Not familiar with this scenario - ask in the UK visit thread for guidance as well.

It looks to me you'll have to wait it out with Italy and send a letter explaining the situation to the UKVI team - not sure if it will help.

Good morning guys, just got a refusal note for my Visa application this morning and the actual reason says: "Justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not provided". Whereas I provided everything. My purpose is to attend a seminar. Kindly enlighten me if I should appeal this decision.

This is where your problem is. Don't mix business with pleasure. If you say you are going for a work related conference or seminar, stick to it and avoid unnecessary distractions.

Going on tour before, during or after the seminar is not a problem. However, including it in your itinerary is seen as a distraction.

Send a convincing email (for review of your application) to the issuing authority, let them know how important this seminar is for you and your business and what you stand to gain and lose. Also convince them why you'd return after the seminar.

Here are the email addresses to send your request:-

visas.lagos-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr,
consulfrance.lagos-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr,
adfr.lagos-cslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr,
amb.abuja-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr

Appealing will take a very long process.

You may appeal against the decision to refuse a visa to the Deputy Director of visa, BP 83609, 44036 Nantes cedex 1, within thirty days from the date of the present notification. Filing an appeal before the Deputy Director of visas is a mandatory pre-condition to appeal against the decision.

Regards,

Visa Dpt

France no longer acknowledges appeals by emails. Please be duly notified.

If you are in doubts, you can clear by sending mails to the attached addresses you posted.

You will get the same responses i attached, i inquired for someone too recently.

First of all, take your time to read what I wrote. Kindly note that REVIEW and APPEAL are two different things.

1. Appeals have always been sent to Nantes from day one. And it is totally a waste of time as up to 95% of appellants are not contacted back.

2. Reviews, if convincing, are attended to. As recent as February 2023, my staff's application was upturned after sending a review request to the emails first stated above. So I do not know what response you got to your inquiry.

3. Assuming the gentleman follows through with the appeal process; these should be taken into consideration. (a) Appeal takes as much as 6 months to be adjudicated. (b) The purpose of his trip is to attend a seminar which is scheduled for a particular date and cannot be rescheduled for his sake. If during the appeal process, the date for the seminar has passed, what would be the justification for granting him the visa?

Refusals are usually very painful. I understand your circumstances. Everything that is done as regards visas is mostly luck.

No one here is superficial or 100% guareented of visas.
If you read above and previous, you will find out that it is not about documents and monies in your account nor cash inflows. Those who got visas in my opinion were just fortunate.

I have seen people with little or no idea on applying for visas get visas on first instance.

I am not convinced uptill this point that visa success is as a result of the documents you submitted. However, if you choose to re apply , send mails as advised by Kel or parcel your appeal in hard copies, Go ahead.

You decide.
I wish you luck.

For benefit of persons with refusal letters, if we have some of you in France. Kindly assist these persons with genuine contacts of immigration lawyers in France.

These exchanges go on alot on the UK/Us visa section. We should have more of you over in Europe willing to assist persons with these contacts, it can go a long way to fast track or initiate their refusal process, notwithstanding the perceived thoughts on appeals.

Kel.

Let stop confusing ourselves with plenty grammar. We are all learned.

What is review , what is appeal?
To review, to re consider.
To appeal, to plead to change an initial decision.

We are speaking same English.

I had to consult the dictionary, we have too many brilliant people here grin

Appeal
In law, an appeal is the process in which cases are reviewed by a higher authority, where parties request a formal change to an official decision. Appeals function both as a process for error correction as well as a process of clarifying and interpreting law. [Wikipedia]

To cut the long story short, the exact mail for which your staff got the change in decision( I believe he or she must have been notified viz -viz mail),Could you be nice to give it to the concerned person privately?

Your contributions are highly valued.

Gracias.

I e been seeing lots of adverts online recent from people saying they can provide proof of funds to visa applicants.

Please what magic are they trying to sell?

Is it not that the ECO would review inflows and outflows into your account in the last 6 months?

What magic will these advertisers perform few days to your visa application submission?
