The bank staff who made the erroneous transfer should be arrested as well. There is no mistake when it comes to transferring such humongous amounts.
My thought, exactly

Bro, such a wonderful man. The bank had told me his account had not been active for ages and that he was above 80.

Per the amount involved they actually phoned him while I was in the branch and he was not even aware of any credit to his account.

The man explained he did not go out much but would call his driver to take him to the bank to authorise the reversal on his end.

Even felt guilty for troubling the old man. I think bank called him Tuesday. He went to the bank Thursday.

The older generation are much better than our hushpuppi generation today like the chap advising how to japa with the money. Very worrying for Nigeria sha. They are all worse than Peter Obi. Lol.
Exactly this what makes obi no different from all Nigerians Nigerians are criminal minded unless you just like being lied to.

Well, he isn't wrong!

That POS guy is an idiot, and it's said that a fool is soon parted with his money.

If any crook wishes to lavish such easily traceable funds, the first thing is to transfer everything and yourself out of this nation.

That's just common sense!

... And yes, an average Nigerian is to be seriously mistrusted and feared! undecided

Some people are just foolish, he should know that such huge amount will be traced with whatever means and recovered. He shouldn't have touched the money by just leaving it in the account and when they finally trace it to his account he can give excuse of not knowing what to do or notify his bank about the money. Any amount above one million naira wrongly sent to any account will be traced. Thousands of naira can be overlooked

Please you can not blame the bank staff for this mistakes, we all are human and bond to make mistakes, I was in bank three weeks ago, one of the cashier mistakenly transferred 1.6m to someone's account in one of the northern state, immediately she realised this they called the owner of the account and informed him and the man Said they should call his bank to reverse the money but later said

Let's blamed the man for not returning the money of inform the bank of this

lock, and the bank that sent you money through your bank won’t track your state of origin and locate your family member? They won’t get your picture and put out a wanted picture? Crypto isn’t untraceable when crime and investigation is involved, unless you are buying through DEFI. You can’t escape with that money. Will only take a little time but you’ll be caught. The only way to escape is to run to somewhere like Suriname, North Korea or Haiti. Disconnect every trace of your online footprint or world. Live a low life but one where you enjoy yourself gradually. Is that life?

what if you are married with kids? will you change schools too? your wifes job? her name and bvn? change her bank account and phone numbers too? stop doing transfers or calls to your loved ones? because as far as there is these connections, i dont see why you cant be traced in a few months? its just a matter of time

My analysis was because I am single....

If I was married, I'd taken another root.

Like I said, getting a new BVN will enable you to open a new bank account and you can do transfer and even change phone line to a new phone and create new emails as well ...

I'd send my family out first Europe, while I move and change my identity to something new!

If the money was transferred to a more knowledgeable crook, then over is over. He for don change the money buy plenty dollars and bitcoin, then transfer some back to his mum (Hakimi option) through the aboki or other third party, thus leaving no direct trail between his account and the recipient, then used the bulk of his loot to japa through night bus to Ghana or Cotonou and from there onwards onwards to a new life. He would have weeks to perfect this.

What u said can only be possible if the amount is about 30m or below, bank or any owner of such humongous amount will explore all means to get it. The money is so much that, it cannot be overlooked bro.

How can a banker or anyone makes such a very costly mistake? Before sending money to anyone in ur bank app there are provisions provided to confirm the name of the receiver.

If can happen. Last year I accidentally sent 600k to the wrong person. Bank said the recipient must go and initiate a reversal.

Luckily they called him and he is an old guy. Not very mobile anymore in fact , and it took him time, but he still went to the bank to do as requested

Restored my belief in the goodness of Nigerians at least for a day lol. Sent the old man 100k as a thank you even as I doubt he needs it.
This year I mistakenly transferred a sum of 2m to a UBA account belonging to a police officer and the officer went to the bank to initiate a reversal himself even before I was able to obtain a court order. Some people don't know such a money like that can be traced.

U just thought us how to act if we re to run things like that nah.....
At the same time is still delicate cuz the acc will sure have next of kin and address...and next of kin go still have next of kin for somewhere and so on...
And u can't carry them all japa...

Well I'm sure they can't jail next of kin..they can only threaten them to some points and monitor them, which means u have to cut all connections with them..

There are many people who's been on this track and nothing has been done to arrest them.

Some monies like that are corrupt monies.

Crypto wallet is untraceable and if you don't k ow what I mean by wallet, then you don't understand what I was writing in the first place.
