Today's tithes are unnecessary in Christianity and not applicable to modern Christians.
The purpose of tithing was clearly explained in Numbers 18:20-29 and a requirement for the Levites because the tribe was appointed.
These rules no longer applies as clearly explained in Colossians 2:13, 14 and 2 Corinthians 9:7.
But because we don't study the Bible and question it like how the apostles advised us to, we end up under the undue complex explanations by these pastors who live on it and live extravagant lifestyles with people's money under compulsion. 5 Likes |

Stop letting gods of men fill your mind with rubbish. Go and read the scriptures. In Hebrews, Apostle Paul made it very clear that the laws of Moses had been scrapped with the death/sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It was replaced with the Law of the Christ (Love). Hence, all the requirements and practices of the law of Moses were dumped, including the requirement of tithing. That old law was not leading anyone to salvation, according to Paul. It was simply a reminder of our weaknesses and failure. He also made the point that if that Law and it's covenant were perfect and able to save anyone, there would not have been the need for a new law /death of Christ. That was why the same Apostle Paul when he found Christ on the road to Damascus, he left his lucrative Law practise. Paul left that practice and he went to learn tent making in order to earn a living. He told the congregations that he did that so that he will not be a financial burden on them. He also told members of the congregations to put aside whatever they want to give to God and he will collect it when he visits the congregations. he said he will use those collections to give to others in other congregations who are very poor, so that ( in his words) there will be an equalizing. The law of tithing was done away with when the Mosaic law was done away with. It was replaced with the law of love( the law of the Christ). The Apostle Paul was very clear that a Christian should give only what he or she can afford, but motivated by love. There is no requirement of giving a percentage of your income or earnings. Millions of men and women in that country are giving ten percent of what they do not have and cannot afford, not knowing it is Advance Fee Fraud, right inside the places called churches. Many Christians give tithes, seeds and offerings in church, and yet see little or no result. They may have been motivated by preachers to give in a certain way, yet may still have little or no results to show for it. Some may even see tithe as a routine or probably to fulfill all righteousness.
The question is: How can Christians make their tithes and offerings bring the desired results?
(1) Give your tithes and offerings as a true child of God, and on the right altar. Paying tithes and offerings in a church altar that is occultic, satanic or devilish, will not yield positive result. You must be sure if your pastor is serving God or another spirit. Only pay tithe in holy altars.
(2) Give your tithes and offerings as you are led: That you attend a local church does not mean you must always pay tithe there. Once in a while, ask God where to know which church to tithe for a particular season of your life. As an apostle said "Pay tithe according to the place you are led by God". God can also lead you always pay tithe only in your local church.
(3) Giving Offerings to a Man of God Highly Favoured by God: As an act of honour, you can sow offerings once in a while to a man of God with great open heavens. This is to tap into the favour God has placed on him.
(4) Praying earnestly after paying tithes and offering: People may pay tithes and seeds without praying deeply on them. If a traditional priest can take his sacrifice seriously, you out to do so. After paying tithe or offerings, you can go on a thirty minutes prayer to back up the tithe and offerings.

Stop the delusion, God does not spend tithe and offering, your pastors does. Therefore, God will never be bribed with tithe and offering, he will do what he will do when he wish to do it.
Before your tithe, he has been God, he is a God that loves unconditionally, he will never prefer you over another simply because of tithe. 1 Like |

2. Give tithe and offering as an act of obedience to God, not focusing on returns from it.

It is not a book of fairy tales. Not in the least. Check out my comments and you will see where I provided evidence that validates the Bible as the word of the true God. I detailed just five pieces of evidence. Don't let the fact that criminals are using the scriptures to extort ordinary people to put you off. There is a God whose name is Jehovah and He is doing great and amazing things right now for those whose hearts are complete towards Him. He does not hang out with those who are lazy and waiting for handouts or miracles. He hangs out with the diligent at work and those who love His qualities. He has not promised us good health and material prosperity right now. He said those will come by means of His government which will take over the earth when His time is right for it. But He is currently providing those who love Him with help to maintain their spirituality and to continue to live clean lives. You should check Him out for yourself and conclude. He wants everyone who serves Him to use their power of reason, the logical mind that He has given us to evaluate Him and His promises and then decide if He is worthy of our trust or not, not noise making and shouting abracadabra and all that foolishness. You're free to have your own forum and set your own rules .... like having one filling out a form before commenting on Christian topics. Allowing Christian topics is not good enough for you.... learn to appreciate the freedom you have on this platform. @ topic .... I never knew tithes was like an investment .... that you pay to get a certain outcome .... and if you're not getting the desired outcome... we have here a consultant to show you the way. |
