All 🇨🇳 CHINESE electric buses. For those always asking what China has done for Africa.

No to start an argument, sir, but in my opinion, when you buy goods and services from a vendor, the vendor has not done anything for you. In fact, you're the one helping the vendor's business. So except these busses were donated, I really don't think they count as what China has done for Africa. Using chinese construction companies is way cost effective than any other alternative, but we pay for every drop of sweat. When we talk about what a country has done for another, I believe it should be in terms of investments and humanitarian aids and maybe military support. The US and the EU still remain the biggest source of humanitarian aids in Africa. The UK is Nigeria's biggest source of foreign direct investment. China is only trying to rise to the second position in recent times. Yes, China has the resources to overtake other countries in terms of new FDI's in Nigeria at some point, but that doesn't undermine western investments in the country. And considering the fact that FDI's inevitably expose a country to foreign influence, some might argue that the influence of a democratic nation is far more bearable.

Just an opinion.

First, is this a nice-to-have or a must-have? If Lagosians lament about traffic everytime, how will this improve their situation?

Secondly, do we have an independent agency that audits government contracts, process of award, monies spent, justification for the project etc. like you would do doing procurement in structured corporate organizations?

Thirdly, in a densely populated state where people cannot boast of steady power supply daily, how do we intend to manage these buses well? Charge them with generators? Create their own separate grid or charge with solar (which we didn't harness to power our industries or factories)?

Lastly, they call Lagos a mega city yet the citizens' common mode of transportation is a fleet of sick buses mostly driven by men who didn't attend driving school, have no regard whatsoever for traffic laws, and supposedly regulated by hemp-smoking street miscreants. And lest I forget, traffic officers never stop these danfos to ask for their papers, and neither are they on queues where vehicle inspections for licensing is done. So are these oyinbo electric buses going to replace our agbero danfos?

Las las na diesel powered Gen them go use charge all the buses. What is the point? I am not a fan of Tinubu but if he can give good governance, he will be supported. Even those who they say "hate" him will support him.

Speak for yourself. Tinubu will provide good governance, probably better than any other leader we've ever had in Nigeria but it doesnt mean it will SUDDENLY TURN NIGERIA TO BRITAIN OR CHINA. Many will still hate him, it's in their blood that why we call them CHILDREN OF HATE. They hated Awolowo and many of our yoruba leaders in the past. But that doesn't really matter because everywhere you find them, they're known as toxic people trying to create problems for their hosts, they just chased them out of Benin republic.

Chai, another reason why some people may not want to remember their villages or want to be associated with their own region again ! Can you now see why these same people want Lagos to be a no man's land and prefer to die in Lagos ? This reminds me of one mumu I met in San Antonio who never ceased to tell any non Nigerian he had an encounter with that he was from Lagos in Nigeria ! He thought I was from the Gambia and as such had told me all sort of nonsense about Lagos. The day he realised I was a Yoruba man from Nigeria, he felt so ashamed of himself and for all the rubbish he had told me about Lagos. I don't know why anyone will not be proud of their own heritage and where they actually come from, shior !

some confirmed dunc^es are up there praising china for building 1000 schools, bla bla bla.
Is it not a shame to Africa that China is building all these things in Africa, and the lazy africans could not get versed in the process of building infrastructure. But the Africans are forming big people after the chinese build anything.

The chinese used to learn the process after less than 10 examples, then they start improving on their own trials and errors.

It is a fact that US and UK have trained many Nigerians in various skills, some of those skills are paid skills, but they trained more people without much knowledge hinderance, and most of the knowledge have transferred to Africa. The US,UK, and others like that, have made remittances of their Nigerian visitors a huge part of national GDP.

Lazy Africans. Always want others to do more for them while they enjoy the glory. If China was like Africa and that mentally lazy, what would have happened to africa, because the Europeans have realized that it is not worth it for them to be building for others, they don't mind directing the project. Even the chinese are now doing it, they are mostly directing and building, but soon they will be leaning to just directing. The chinese borrow the money, then the chinese build it, but the nation like Nigeria, will pay them and just get to use it.

It is a fact that knowledge transfer from US to Africa is way more than knowledge transfer from china to Africa.

What have Nigerian leaders done for themselves? If they put you in America company or Chinese company which one will you work for? The Electric buses are they donations from China? Why did you not list the things we buy from the United States as what they have done for us?

Some of these things are just basics. Even Lagos is not yet at the global standard so it's not a question of being a major city. Lagos just has forward-thinking governors while others who even want to try at all may content themselves with building flyovers and such that I would call eye-service infrastructure.
The problem i have in this country is the citizens. If it was lagos that built those fly over it wouldn't be Eye-service infrastructure...lol. The infrastructure has helped Rivers state even though you are blind to see it. Another government should do other things since they have built solid road infrastructure.

We're they done free? How many African countries are under Chinese debta now and why is china refusing to talk about discuss way out with those countries.

Do you know that most of these countries risk the loosing of their sovereignty to china of they are indebted to china?

How many countries has china forgiven her debts?

If you don't know , ask or you get your facts rights. Chinese arr the ones currently destroying Africa by bringing their worst of worst of human beings to exploit you. Tell me how many chineeee hospitals in your country ? Where are the technology transfered by china to your country? Why are you extractive industry not competing with the Chinese. Why are your raw materials been stolen blindly day and night in zamfara, Ogun , etc.

I just feel sorry for some of you cos you just copy and paste whatever you see to mislead people. Chinese are not welcomed in Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania etc.

Where are the scholarships, education grants ,

You should ask your leaders what they are doing with your money and economy and top balming america and the west. You can't even get the Chinese visa anyhow.
