eljp:In Nigeria, we don't subscribe to divorce. We are known to be very resilient. Our wives have accepted to put their bad marriages and us their bad horsebands in the hands of God and pastors. They have accepted to endure both the emotional and physical abuse we subject them to just for peace to reign, after all, marriage is for better for worse. Also, they don't consider leaving because kids are in the mix and some of them are not financially stable to be on their own. A condition we bad horsebands intentionally put them in sometimes. On the other hand, we Nigerian horsebands who are married to bad wives have all agreed that having permanent seats in and staying late at beer parlors everyday help to reduce the high blood pressure associated with our bad marriages. Why should I consider divorce when I can drink away my sorrows and go to bed each night. Why should I consider divorce when I have sidechick who rights the wrongs of my bad wife by taking care of me every weekend. Biko, nothing will separate me and my bad wife. We will continue to manage each other till one of us kill the other.  |
