Very fair sentence...
N3TRAL:
At this point we cannot deny that the plethora of leniency pleas sent by prominent African individuals and organisations, in the form of letters posted to representatives of the British Government, influenced the court in tempering justice with mercy.

It's a fair conviction and sentence, especially, due to the fact that the case is the first of its kind in the United Kingdom brought under the Modern Slavery Act of 2015.

They'll become better Earth citizens when they complete their jail terms.

I hope that my pretty Sonia gets a legal donor and completes the transplant successfully before her parents are released.

I also wish the brave victim well and hope that he goes through a soothing integration into European culture and society. He is the Hero of the story.

Ewooo!!!
I am sad about this news. Please dear God comfort Ekweremadu, his wife and family. May you smile on him again
I guess you hate Nigerians. Go to his constituency and see how they're jubilating. Just go online. They say he's such a wicked soul who did nothing in their constituency. He promised building hospitals from the constituency project money but later abandoned it. Don't pity Nigerian politicians. You may just be offending God. They're more wicked than the devil. Ekweremadu had healthy children who could have offered to donate their kidney but he looked the other way and picked a poor boy instead. That's worse than a sin against the Holy Spirit. When Karma strikes, they say its wicked meanwhile, Karma is only doing its thing.

The likes of ekweremadu are all over the country today. Karma would soon visit them.

Neocolonialism rearing its ugly head once again. If the reverse was the case, would the British imperialists allow their Mp be sentenced in nigeria under same circumstances?

You are only talking at the level of your understanding.
shortgun:
This is not justice but witch hunting.

How can you sentence a man that wrote to your embassy about his intention to take someone to UK for the purpose of organ donation.
The donor is not a minor.
What nonsense law do they practice in the uk

Yeah they should have voted for the detained and deported religious fanatical IPOB terrorist monkey. Brainwashed IPOB Biafuro terrorist cretin.
Sad part is that this one is probably one of the so many drug dealers out of Anambra peddling drugs somewhere in Asia. They will soon catch you.
You better be ready to wail and cry for the next 8 years.

[.quote author=KingsCity post=122947449]This grossly unfair if true

At least nobody’s organ was actually harvested

And he wrote to British Embassy and duly informed them of the purpose of his visit and they never advised him. Not like he sneaked into the UK to carry out the procedure

Nigeria should cut diplomatic ties with UK until this rubbish is reversed [/quote]

You can't blackmail them into tampering with the rule of law. This is not Nigeria, where you'd play ethno-religious card and escape justice.

Shut up! Stop suffering from stockholm syndrome. This dude has caused suffering and sorrows for many Nigerian families, sorrows more than that his daughter is currently experiencing. This is only the beginning.

Shut up there. Which suffering did he cause you.

His conviction in the eyes of the law is unacceptable.

This is witch hunting. We will shutdown all British businesses in Nigeria.

Enough is enough.

In my opinion this is very embarrassing and a shame to Nigeria. It’s unacceptable and should be paid back in same kind. This action humiliates us as a people and shows the arrogance of the British people in their treatment of Africans. For god sake , Ekweremadu was a former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria and as such should have been accorded diplomatic treatment.

I think it's witch hunting to an extent. White people always show their power with African.

How much did they pay for the slavery they put Africa into.

African kings were the chief beneficiary of slavery. Even when it was banned, they continued. One said it was a business from God.

There are so many lessons and ironies in this sad case. For me the most important lesson is that politicians should develop their countries. If there were good transplant facilities in Nigeria, this would never have occurred
