Although I am modest myself and I like that, maybe it's why I choose the work I do, but northerners by nature are underachievers so it's not really about modesty for them and the so called dangote that he used as an example is completely laughable - dangote can only be a real deal in a mediocre society and never in a merit based society.
Nigerian northerners tends to copy from their Arab masters, just like those folks contribute nothing to humanity but are on a pedestal few are on, they became staggeringly rich from selling hydrocarbon but they do a lot of show off - the Bugatti, Ferrari and all of that.
You don't see the average American billionare showing off like the members of royal families of the gulf states and their friends, do you??

Reno is stating the truth. I remember one guy saying that Dangote's daughter, halima, was his mate in Law School but he only got to know this long after they'd finished school. He was surprised that the daughter of the richest man in these climes would remain so humble. No matter the submission of Reno, the north is still educational disadvantaged. The majority of them score less than 100 in jamb and still get admission.

They even admit them without meeting up with basic requirements in some subject like English.

They let them in while still trying to sit for WAEC to make up for the papers they didn't have.

I did my tertiary education in the North. I know what I am saying.

JAMB marks, grades and releases examination results in 24hours, with close to no margin of error. This exercise takes place Nationwide for millions of students.

To be honest I think Reno has a point here. I do actually wonder how most times people from the south referred to North as been poor and hungry. Haven't spent lots of time in the North and also well familiar with the south (SS, SE AND SW). I can confidently tell you that the North are very far from those assertions. The Irony of it all is that the south hustle like elephants but feeds like ant whereas the reverse is the case with the North. Same goes with employment. Every single northern graduate through college of education is hurriedly fixed in the payroll whereas masters holder from the south keep roaming the streets endlessly in search of what to do.
