Max Air Boeing 737 suffers multiple tire bursts upon landing Abuja Airport, Nigeria

By Bart Noëth -7 May 2023

A Max Air Boeing 737-400 (registered 5N-MBD) suffered multiple tire bursts upon landing at Abuja Airport, Nigeria operating a domestic flight from Yola. The 144 passengers and 6 crew members safely left the aircraft. The airport authorities were forced to close the airport for a period to remove the 737 from the runway.

Very little is known about the airline, but planespotters.net knows that Max Air has actually 4 Boeing 737, 1 Boeing 747 and 2 Embraer ERJ-145 in service.

Max Air is a domestic and international airline based in Nigeria, the country’s longest-serving international airline. Established in 2008 by business mogul Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal, the company’s head office is located in Kano State with its base at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano. The said tyres busted while taking off at Yola Airport, that's give them advantage for robust emergency preparedness at Abuja Airport upon landing.

The only thing known by this airline is that it is owned by a fulani man and was favored over other airlines due to obvious nepotism and corruption by the fulani republic of Nigeria.
Imagine the money paid to the airline by our wicked federal government when another airline with better aircrafts was ready to flow Nigerians from Sudan for free.

Hmmmmm, the maintenance team need to answer some serious questions.

Hope they aren't using second hand tyres like one airline in Nigeria?

This aircraft will be grounded, what a huge loss because of some people's negligence

If NEMA paid Max Air for the evacuation from Sudan, I am prepared to wager a bet that Air Peace also got paid.
There is no free lunch in the aviation sector.

This just shows negligence on the part of the Airlines and maintenance crew.

Tires blowing out on an aircraft simply means they were not checked, & if they were not checked why & how on Earth did the pilot take off?? huh shocked shocked shocked

Aircraft tires need to be checked every 24hrs, especially before and after flights, because Aircraft tire pressure is not a big deal, it's a very very big deal.

Aeroplane no be Keke tori olorun...

So if an Aircraft has its tires blown like that, its either of two things which could have been checked before the flight;
1- Inadequate tire pressure
2- End of tire lifetime

If the aviation sector works normally, tire incidents should not even occur because it is the most basic check by ground before every flight clearance, my people where are common aviationstandards??

If an investigation is conducted now, I can most assure you that those tires were probably not checked for ages, despite regular flights.

This is an example of how ineptitude can potentially kill people.
