This up coming weekend is gonna be a long weekend and I honestly wasn't planning on going home because I just need a break from my family. But I received a call yesterday that a relative is getting married this up coming weekend and that one of the bridesmaids just told them that she couldn't make it and they need someone to replace her ASAP, so they chose me.

They said I could buy any kind of a dress as long as it's the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses... The bride has already gotten a stylist that's gonna do the bridesmaids hair and makeup and I'm told that all bridesmaids will be made to wear lace wigs.. I don't like wigs, especially lace wigs whereby I'm gonna have my forehead glued.. the longest I've worn a wig I think it was for 5 or 6 hours, and it was very hot... I removed it even before I got home.. grin grin grin

I've never owned a wig before and I don't think I'll ever do, but I don't know, maybe things may change in the future.. I only do braids and style my natural hair.

So I want to know from ladies who most of the time wear wigs, especially lace wigs... How do you cope in them? Especially in this blazing hot African weather?
Yes it was very very hot . 😜That’s why u deserve to step into your personal Air conditioned car to & fro .

I dislike the Wig ehh..

Wig is not for naija girls! It doesn't suit them at all! It makes them look old, more artificial and not pleasing to the eye! I wonder why them no dey tell them the truth..

Make a Weaving, Shuku, Kojusoko, Patewo, and see how beautiful & natural you'll look!

Most African women haven't mastered wigs yet, undecided

african Americans are the best at it

For africans, braids are their expertise.

I will expose a dark secret about wigs
that happens in India and Indonesia

The long hairs of dead indian women are cut off before they burn the body (cremation). They don't bury in india

The long hair of the dead woman is then sold to wig makers who package it as wig and sell to Africans.

Basically, 60% of Nigerian girls are walking around with a dead woman's hair.
No wonder they act like they are possessed

This is a fact. Very often, wigs are manufactured from hair taken from the remains of deceased people.
They use companies known as “hair collectors” who specialize in harvesting hair from corpses

Low self esteem. And a lot you girls look transsexual with d damn wigs on.

African hair ain’t bone straight.
Your black hair defys gravity and you should nurture and respect her.

And regardless of how natural your factory-synthesized wigs look or feels,
it’ still but screams acceptance.

You’re woman and that’s enough.

Imagine someone bragging about spending $300-$700 on hair wey no be your own…..
osino “good hair don’t come cheap”. awwww rich kid.

This generation of black women are terribly misguided.

I hope you got better investments cos the days are getting darker.
And don’t forget to love and take care of your natural crown.

It's not easy, the heat is killing. I do remove it once I am done with pics and events specials. I just make my weaving and adimole neat at all times

You see that natural Adimole hair style no amount I can't give to my who will be...but asking 5k for attachment irrespective of how you take care of it can't change the fact that it smells a lot to me. I wouldn't even give a Kobo to do it because I hate it.

That's why I say... Women are the source of life and I pray for the best among them as wife and daughters.

It's wonder how they cope with eyelashes that as big as aeroplane wing.
How do they cope with attachment of finger nails that as long as lion claws.

Aunty, just do simply styling or natural braiding and I am perfectly okay with it. One of the dos and don't of my relationship with any girl is ...NO WIG grin

Women carry a lot of things that brings different strange spirits upon them. . Because their body is too idolized.

That is why I see a lot of them behaving strangely without any reason often.

I hate wigs. One journalist discovered that most of the human hairs used to make wigs came from corpses of dead people.
When you buy wigs, there is no possibility of determining the source of the hair because the labelling on the packaging is misleading.
You wear wigs made with hairs coming from dead bodies and you don't even know it
and the annoying part is that they buy it at ridiculous prices.you go see wig of ₦50k,₦100k,₦700k and you will see girls prostituting, stealing and lying to get it

Meanwhile many of those who are involved in it have no business skills,no job,no degree just fooling around and hanging around cinemas, hotel lounges, clubs and bars waiting on who will give them attention.when they don't now see the attention they are looking for, they'll take it a step further by doing nude photoshoot

Shut up. Majority of wigs are made from synthetic hair. You that wear cloths and drive cars of dead people you think you are normal?

No wonder some of you foolish. Most human hair used for weaves and wigs is obtained from Asia (perhaps most often China, India, and Korea) That’s partly due to economic reasons and because of the physical properties of hair from that part of the world – tends to be very straight. Hair from Africa and the Middle East tends to be kinky/curly which limits its use in wigs and extensions. In India, a large portion of the hair is sourced from Hindu temples where hair is donated for religious practices, particularly in honor of the Hindu God Vishnu.

What about the heat that comes with wearing a wig? How do you cope with it?

Because I'm considering telling the bride that I'm not comfortable with the idea of me wearing a wig, but I can have my own natural hair styled... I checked the weather and it's gonna be very hot and too much heat makes my nose to bleed.

Please tell the bride you want to wear your natural hair.

Nothing signals abnegation of culture, nothing signals a rejection of one's organic self, like wigs or weaves.

There is no reason why Black women should be wearing these lifeless adornments in a country like Nigeria.

The revolution against Wigs must be televised. grin

P.S - my own sisters and cousins wear them, and they know precisely where I stand.
