A001:You should change your bio to paganist and not agnostic. Lightening is a natural phenomenon, no ancient person has power of any natural phenomenon. If the man who became the first Yoruba blacksmith is Ogun, and Ogun means iron then who named him Ogun? His mother? You are just confusing yourself with long write ups of nothingness. The focus of my response is the names of gods and not what they do. Let's take Messi for example, as the god of football. The god of football is a title and not a name. His name is Messi. Amadioha is a god worshipped by Igbos. Amadioha means thunder. Meaning that Igbos worship the natural phenomenon called thunder. If he were an ancient being is immaterial to the discussion. The name ascribed to the god is what I am talking about and it is more or less a title. I know about this because that is the god my forefathers worshipped as priest. You cannot tell me about Amadioha, unless (on a lighter note) you want me to send him to you ![]() |

Nostradamus1:Exactly except the bolded which are natural phenomena. Those are titles ascribed to the powers that they are or that control them. A001 says they are names of ancient talented people just as we have Messi today. ![]() |

Spy360:That's why I said you're the typical African that knows next to nothing about the local cultures and can't think critically. Africans have specific names for their gods. Those are names, not titles. So because I'm learning about my culture, that makes me a pagan even though I don't worship any god or deity. Typical African. And where did I tell you Ogun means iron in the posts you quoted? I said Ogun is referred to as god of iron. That's the popular belief about him. Before Ogun discovered how to make iron by melting rocks with intense fire, people in his time didn't know what an iron is, and they cultivated the soil using tools made of wood. After his discovery of iron and making different tools with it, Ogun became a synonym for iron. As for Amadioha, Sango is a similar deity like him. I learned Sango's history from various sources including Otem and Isese practitioners. There are many similarities in the accounts given by these sources, but there are too many exaggerations in the legends of Sango narrated by adherents of Yoruba traditional religion. The same applies to Amadioha as well. In the historical account of Sango that Otem gave, Sango spat fire from his mouth using a purely physical process. However, such a feat seemed supernatural to those in his own time, who deified him as a god because those people had lower levels of intelligence and abilities. Then, based on my research reading different books of history and interacting with Isese practitioner, Sango had existed in different human eras. He first existed as a rephaim (a giant similar to a nephilim like the black man used to invent the Jesus Christ character by Romans) in the pre-homo erectus era. That Sango is the one Isese practitioners worship as a deity, god of thunder/lightning like Amadioha. The rephaim Sango had great power of magia. While these are usually illusions, some are based on science and will be achieved by modern scientists in future. For instance, he could artificially create thunderstorm/lightning using things of nature, just like today modern humans artifically create rain via the process of cloud seeding. All these are physical processes, nothing spiritual or supernatural. But less limited people would call them juju or magia. Today, scientists can artificial create a sun via nuclear fusion, generate rain via cloud seeding, create thunderstorms on a small scale via a Van de Graaff generator. Yet, all these technologies aren't really new. Like I said above, science and technology didn't start with us, homo sapiens — modern humans. The extinct races such as nephilims, rephaims, homo erectuses were even more technologically advanced than us. Religious people would read the Bible and Qur'an and marvel at the technologies mentioned there, without realizing that science and technology didn't start with us. The past beings were mightier and much more technologically advanced. Our sciences, which are less than 600 years old, are still elementary. In the future, scientists will be able to travel at the speed of light, work with consciousness (soul), create humans as those entities religious people worship as God did in the past eras, colonize planets, and other feats that seem magical. Sango and Amadioha achieved some of these feats in the past (extinct) world and were deified. In the homo sapiens era, another Sango existed who ruled over the old Oyo Empire. He was the fourth Alafin of Oyo, following Oranmiyan, one of the sons of Oduduwa. These past beings, including Eshu, founded many towns and cities in Yorubaland. Thus, you'll come across many places in Yorubaland whose names are the names of these deities or have names like Sango, Eshu as their root. The same applies to Iboland. The Alafin Sango was a reincarnate of the rephaim Sango. Many famous people today making waves in science and technology, sports, acting, politics, and other human endeavors had existed in the past. Such is the cycles of life. |

A001 as a former Ahl us-Sunnah, what's the position of Ahl us-Sunnah regarding the names and attributes of Allah? Does Emaan increase or decrease? Mention two books with the title of Sunnah and name their authors? Who is popularly referred to as Imam Darul Hijrah? |

Spy360:We are already seeing it. People calling CR7, Lord Ororo and idolo. In a thousand years Ororo idol worship might be the number 1 religion and fittingly enough anointing oil will be a key item of worship. |

Amoto94:I know where you're heading with this. Not interested. Can you tell me who Luna, Ojo, Ohmorihi are? Do you know their history? How come Kogi is present in both Nigeria and Columbia? What's the connection? That's the kind of valuable and beneficial knowledge a sensible African seeks, not wasting time on those frivolous questions you asked about the Arabic culture. No people can develop if they don't learn the history and culture of their ancestors. Enough with the devotion to the Arabs. |

A001:I may not be able to verify some of your claims but I know that as you said, Sango and Ogun were humans who became deified. In fact, in the old Oyo Empire, Sango was a king. I really can't say about the Igbo deities but I know that deities in Africa had similar constructs. Even now, some Africans have almost turned their pastors into deities or gods! Africans! |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Spy360(m): 10:51am On May 15, 2023 |
A001:It sounds logical but not really true. There are entities which people refer to as demons or principalities. These are the ancient earthlings who ruled the world in the preadamic past. They are worshipped by paganist as gods and they still have influence today. Satan is one of them. Their names are not known because they don't have one. Modern humans then ascribbed titles to them depending on how they relate. These entities are not the same as natural phenomena that others still worship because they consider them as wonders. That's why I gave you specific examples like lightening/thunder, earth/soil, oceans, mountains etc. It's like eclipses, these are all natural phenomena. These have specific names that are not derived from any ancient person. So you have a little idea about the ancient agencies (referred to as demons by people) who lived in preadamic or pre-homo sapiens period. Like you mentioned, they were powerful/giants and advanced. But don't mix them up with thunder. Amadioha means thunder, it's not a name. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A001: 10:51am On May 15, 2023 |
GrammarNazi1:That's the modus operandi of all gods in religion, whether the chief/major god or the less powerful ones. God is a purely human construct. Life isn't fair. Nature places some humans at the top of pyramid and gifted with them with superior intelligence and abilities. These are those the vast majority of humans call and worship as God simply because the vast majority of humans operate on lower levels of intelligence and abilities. Some humans are placed by nature at the top of a mountain and see much farther than the most of their fellow humans placed on lowlands by nature. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Spy360(m): 11:04am On May 15, 2023 |
A001:So why are you insisting that you are correct and that every other person is wrong when you aren't certain of what you are saying. You should give room for other logical explanations. Anyways, next question. 2. If Amadioha is the name of an ancient person, when you see lightening or hear thunder, do you think of it as a person or something being controlled by a person? Just as you have explained it as being a historical fact taught by Otem. (You can use any of the gods you mentioned like Chukwu, Ogun or Sango) |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A001: 11:07am On May 15, 2023 |
Spy360:Lols, your ancestors are demons and principalities, but Yahweh and Allah aren't. Interesting. Spy360:Amadioha was first the name of a person before it became synonymous with thunder. Ogun was the first the name of a person before it became synonymous with iron. Clotho was first the name of a person (a Greek god) before it was used to name cloth. Europa was first the name of a person before it was used to name a continent. Atum was first the name of a person before it became the name of a scientific concept (atom). Pythagoras was first the name of a person before it became a mathematical concept. |

afrodoc2:You are wrong. His name is Christiano Ronaldo. Any other appellation will be a title. And yes, Lord is a title. Jehova/Yahweh means lord. Chi means god and Chukwu means great god. All titles. I need a Muslim to tell us what Allah means literally. |

Spy360:So far, you've not made any tangible points. You're merely repeating the same false and twisted history taught by Europeans. Spy360:Your question is funny. When you drive a Ford car, do you think of it as Henry Ford? The post you quoted is very clear. I clearly stated those past people used things of nature to artificially create thunderstorms. You're the one repeating the assertion that Amadioha means thunder. This shows your knowledge of the subject matter is shallow. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Spy360(m): 11:20am On May 15, 2023 |
A001:First in my post I said people (not I) refer to them as demons. I used demons so you can identify who I referred to. Now whether they are demons (title for enemy) is another topic. Secondly, Yahweh (Hebrew) means Jehovah (greek) or lord (English) or Onye nwem (Igbo) and are all titles which people can use to refer to a multiple number of persons. Same as thunder (English) means amadioha (Igbo) and can be used to refer to multiple number of persons. You have mentioned Pythagoras and the rest, don't mix up those people with natural phenomena like as I have said. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A001: 11:24am On May 15, 2023 |
Spy360:You're just confusing yourself. Jehovah is a name, claiming the title of god in the Bible. Another name of Jehovah is Yahweh. Allah is also a name, claiming the title of god in Qur'an. Allah has many other names such as Al-Aziz, etc. Your knowledge is shallow. I'm sure Chukwu is the same person as Allah and Yahweh to you. They all mean God. Lols, utter confusion. Buhari is the same as Obama, Jonathan, Jinping; they all mean president. Lols. Serious confusion. This is what happens you don't seek knowledge about your culture; instead, you're relying on the lies in the Bible as taught by hegemonic Europeans. |

A001:The bolded doesn't mean you have to assume he did. He didn't exist on earth based on existing records and statements from all Igbo human archives. His existence as a being is in so much doubt that before the white men penetrated Igbo land, Nobody prayed /sacrificed to/worshipped Chi-ukwu. A person appeased all the normal gods and prayed to his Chi. He is just a fundamental thought |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A001: 11:26am On May 15, 2023 |
Spy360:You've not made any reasonable points so far. You're merely repeating the false knowledge and history you learned in your Bible. Do research on the subject by reading wide and relating with traditionalists in your native town. Your points are shallow. |

Nostradamus1:He didn't exist on Earth based on existing records from Igbo archives, the same archives containing histories dating back to like 3000 or 4000 years ago. Humans have existed for thousands of years before then. The Earth is 4.5 billion years old; the current homo sapiens era is roughly 300,000 years old; the old homo erectus era was 2 millions years before that. So, the vast majority of history is lost and undocumented. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Spy360(m): 11:31am On May 15, 2023 |
A001:Mention any part of what I have said that is European? In fact you are the only other person that have me ruined European concepts here. You are not a critical pragmatic thinker. You are simply dogmatic. FYI, amadioha is a literal translation to thunder //Amadi- oha.// Ala is a literal translation for soil. Anyanwu- sun or sunlight. These are mere language registers. So if I call someone Amadioha, I have given him a title. Like Rochas is called Onwa meaning moon. |
