Different people have different ways to handle issues. As a Muslim it's very clear what we should do in such circumstances.

You find long big stick or cutlass and face the snake and tell her to leave three times after reciting some verses, if it refuses to leave them just say Bismillah and proceed to kill it.

There's no need embracing new faith because of snake.

Since you drop some lessons after your story, we should also gift you some lessons in case of another time.

Lesson 1: Don't Stay that long thereby putting your family in harms way before acting.

Lesson 2: Make every effort if It means climbing in or getting security cameras, make sure you see what is tormenting you korokoro.

Lesson 3: The fact that your ceiling went quiet doesn't mean, it's dead. It might resurface, therefore tel the cele priest that you want to see it death and not just dissappear into thin air.

Me too. Snakes are the most ugly creatures on earth. And they are the most stupid wild and dangerous animals. Most stupid in the sense that other wild dangerous animals avoid human habitation, snake has little head with tiny brain that make it not able to distinguish between human habitation and non human habitation.

You got it, little head and tiny brain. Snakes are just struggling for survival and not seeking out humans. Snakes would rather avoid humans. They tend to get close because we have what they need, like warmth and of course rats. A snake is very unlikely to seek out human to bite. Most bites result from their defensive instinct. In fact humans are more invasive of their habitats.
i've heard snakes biting people asleep. I've heard snakes squeezing people to death

Almost everyone lives with snakes in their apartments especially if your area is a new site, but the good thing is that if you don't bother them they won't attack you. In February 2020, I saw a life big brown snake right in my sitting room of 2 storey building, we lived precisely at the last floor, how it got there remain a mystery to everyone that heard about it. Later, I remembered that I got a new set of chairs for the living room and the furniture man's workshop was a bit bushy, so I suspected that the snake hide in one of the chairs at the man's workshop. I couldn't stand the sight of the reptile so I called for help and the snake was killed. God really safe my little children becausethe reptile was with them in the living room while they were watching cartoon on that day and only God knows for how long we had been living with the snake. What surprised me most was that, exactly one month after, I was down with a strange illness that almost cut short my life, if not for GOD I wont be here sharing this story. All the prescribed drugs by the doctor were not working for me, so that made to go spiritual. Bros if yours is spiritual too please don't waste time to tackle it appropriately, delay maybe dangerous.
I wish you luck and good health.

Here is an update about the snake that took abode in my roof. Here is the link to the first thread i created about it in 2019.

UPDATE
•••••••••

I will try to be detailed as much as possible. You might draw one or two lessons from it, or you can simply discard it altogether.

___
After a heavy fumigation in 2019, my family and i left the house for a few days. Upon returning, i thought there is no way in hell that the reptile up there in my roof would survive this fumigation.

Since returning home, we live easy and slept peacefully without any funny sound or movement in the roof, so we thought the snake is probably dead or something.

Even up to 3 months after the fumigation i still throw away dead lizards in my compound, meaning that the fumigation was very strong. And still no sound in my roof, nothing.

A little while later and towards ending of 2019 and through out 2020, lo and behold the snake is still living and thriving up there. Again we began hearing the sound of it's movement, slithering movement/sound. One can tell that it's big snake just hearing how it slithers around with joy.

Snake is Mostly active at night. During daytime it usually stays in a certain location inside roof, and changes location during night time. Just as if it has room and parlour up there.

The reality of the situation became registered in our minds. Real fear began setting in.

I threw powdered garlic, several hard boiled eggs inside the ceiling, and this certain leaf that repels snake (i have forgotten its name), all inside the ceiling but it seems none worked.

Reasons for the fear:

1. Constant nightmares experienced by myself and my wife.

2. Other private things i can't mention here.

Regarding the constant nightmares, i contacted a man here on nairaland, Ebankole, he has his own website now. I told him some of these dreams which he interpreted saying there is a stranger in our home ( didn't even mention about the snake to him), he even told me some other things regarding my family (wife, kids and i) which i never mentioned to him and all he said checked out correct!.

He's true seer.

Note that i have never met him in person, we only communicate on nairaland but mostly through his website.

That was when i started serious praying & fasting as advised by Ebankole. A xtian family here anyway but i l rarely go to church except on Dec 31st, but my wife goes every Sundays and other days.

Talking to fellow landlords.

Towards mid 2021, its beginning to dawn on me that i have a Very serious issue at hand. I approached a fellow landlord just opposite my home. He's a very elderly man. I told him about what i have been grappling with. He queried why i kept quite for long. Well, im a very quite person in our community. I mind my business.

We went to see an Islamic cleric in a nearby town. After briefing and debriefing, this is what the cleric told me verbatim: you have been sleeping and waking up with dark unseen entities/demons.

Eventually he said he and other clerics would have to come to my house to pray and recite Quranic verses and that the snake and other dark entities would leave thereafter.

I didn't go back.

Soon after, I approached my CDA chairman on a Saturday after a landlord's meeting, i told him about the guest in my roof. He was surprised that how could it be.

He came to my home, inspected and saw that truly that snake can't get down into the house because of the POP ceiling everywhere, but what's the snake eating all these while?

He also noted the following:

1. that could the snake be leaving the roof to go hunt for food outside and return inside the roof when ever it so wishes. And that if this so then its not natural.

2. that Is there a way lizards or rats gain entrance into the roof, thereby making themselves easy snacks for the snake? But this is most unlikely because i have since blocked all tiny crevices that tiny lizards can use to gain entrance into the roof, and i showed it to him.

Oh i almost forgot, he advised that i cut a small part of the outside ceilng, that maybe the snake can have a easy way out. I used PVC for outside ceiling, so i removed a small plastic from the PVC ceiling outside.

Eventually, he promised to get intouch with a snake charmer, maybe they can help call the snake out from the roof. I called our chairman again a few times to ask about the Charmer he said he's Gonna bring to my home but he kept posting me.

My journey into the CCC ( Celestial church)

Will continue tomorrow. Feeling sleepy now.

The concluding part

There is this neighbor, a family, we shared the same compound together in the year 2015/2016. They are devoted CCC member. Way back when we lived in The same compound, my wife and I used to make subtle jokes about the cele people. Who would have thought that we would one day I would run to CCC.

September 2021, we called the wife and explained things to her. Arrangements was made to see the shepard of the church. As their usual practice, we fisrt first sought to hear the voice of God (Shonna). God’s word came out loud and clear on different matters. But concerning this snake issue, this is what we (wife and i) were told.

1. That We need to exorcise our home and get rid of the dark spirits that have taken abode with us.

That they follow us wherever we go, even when the whole family is going somewhere in our car, some sit with us and enjoy the ride.

2. That Good things will cease to happen as long we remain in there with the dark spirits

3. Sudden disappearance of things.

4. That We should not think we are the rightful owner of that piece of land that we built upon.

And that the land has been dedicated to these spirits a long time ago before I bought the land, and that my family and I are the strangers disturbing the peace of the real owners.

All these were evidently true, especially number 2 and 3.

Number 3 is funny. For example, One evening, on our way home, wife and I are the only people in the car. we stopped by a chemist to get some drugs for hay fever. My wife went inside the Chemist to get the drugs while I waited in the car. She brought the drugs on watchers, about 2 satchets, I saw her put the drugs in the cup holder, just right after the hand brake.

On getting back home we could not find the drugs. We searched everywhere in the car, even searched the most unlikely places. Even searched engine compartment, lol

Moreso, there are instances of missing money in the house and even in the car. Like you put money or something here this minute, in the next one hour or so when you need to use that thing then you wont see it again, otilor.

Number 2 is evidently true too, at a certain time, we started living from hand to mouth. Things are just tight, tight is an understatement. No need for stories in this regard.

Exorcism was done. Additionally, we were advised to improve on our prayer lives. Our Shepard told us that had it been that we have been been members in his parish that he would have advised me to get another land. And that when conditions improve, we should consider getting or building another house.

After the exorcism, time went by. Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months and by mid 2022 I sensed somehow that my roof has been calm, no more noise in the roof. I covered back the little hole I made on the ceiling outside. I believe nothing’s up there again except spiders.

Its being more than 9 months of experiencing calmness in the house, stranger has gone, snake has gone. Exact time it left I don’t know. By my calculation, it should be between the time I made that cut in the outside ceiling and or when exorcism was done.

Lessons

1. Before renting or buying anything like house, piece of land, even a car etc pray about it. This can save you years of misfortune. I’m still licking my wounds as I write this. Just very sad.

2. I used to believe that praying at home with your family is way better than going to church to pray. Certainly, it’s good to pray together as a family, but sometimes you need other spiritually stronger people to join your faith with in prayer.

Now I enjoy going to church on Sundays (only thing is that im not a dancer grin ) and every other day if need be. I don’t even allow my wife to wash my white garment, I wash and iron them myself with joy.

3. I used to believe that 95% of men of God are corrupt and use voodoo. Well, certainly I still believe most are corrupt and use voodoo. Nevertheless there are still a tiny fraction that are well mannered and well connected to the living power of God. May we have the grace to located them.

There are some stubborn life challenges, like the one I narrated, that can only be conquered by being directly connected to the living power of God or coming in contact with true MOG that connected to the said power.

4. We should not be in a hurry to kill some seemingly dangerous animals especially snakes. Sometimes, doing this might plunge you into years of misfortune. Sometimes there is more to this animals than it meets the eyes. If in close proximity, then best is to try and get the back into the bush.

So, snake is gone, lessons learnt, life style adjusted, still licking my wounds. I pray God to return my lost fortune and show me some respite soon.

I left some very personal stuffs out but I still tried to be detailed as much as possible. If you feel this is gibberish then please disregard and forget this piece.

I didn't say you should start paying rent, but if moving your family elsewhere will involve you paying rent temporarily, then so be it. If you were the only one living there and don't want to move, then it wouldn't matter to me but you've children who are also being affected by this, so it's time for you to find another living arrangement and/or work towards building another house elsewhere for their sake, safety and peace of mind. Nigerians Sha. All these up and down because of 1 snake? It's ok to not like snakes, so if you notice one and are scared of removing it, why not make enquiries around for a snake catcher to simply come and remove the snake? Even all these hausa men around can offer to do it at no cost other than taking the dead snake to eat. But you had to attach all manner of spiritual connotation to a simple snake problem and now are dipping your hands into all sorts. Just smh

You never see what snake can do. The poster has been lucky to live with the snake for far too long without attack by the snake.

Few years ago, two newly wedded European love bugs checked into their hotel rooms in one of the Latin American countries, and laid on the bed.
They did not know that two dangerous snakes were already nestled in the mattress. Man and woman got bitten by the snakes. Both died from the snake poison.

Sorry but if you don’t see that snake coming down from your roof dead
…you still have to worry, if not for anyone but the occupants of your home.

Only rats in the roof makes one uneasy talkless knowing a snake is up there.
One time in Nigeria, I was walking round the my friends new home and a green snake fell from the building wall almost on my friend, in trying to escape, it escaped into the roof.

We immediately lit the kitchen gas and emptied all the pepper in the pepper jar in a hot pot, shut the kitchen doors and created an opening in the pop ( I removed the light fitting). In less than 30 secs of burning the dried ground peppers I had to run out of the house, it was unbearable for any human, let alone my friends pets (dogs)
I let it burn for about 10mins, managed to go into the kitchen and shut the gas. Then we head off to an Hausa quarters to get some Aboki to go in the roof and catch the snake.

When we returned to the home, the green snake was exhausted and hanging on to dear life on the fence wall.
It had crawled out immediately when we were away. It was so exhausted, that the Aboki caught it with their hand.

…so like I said, you should want to see that snake dead or alive!
It will put your mind at ease!
