There is no particular gatekeeper of "liberalism". What you're highlighting is basically the extremism of liberalism and those that believe the bolded are fewer in number, hence the rapid pushback seen against that particular narrative from many including other liberals.

It's universal knowledge that children are incapable of making their own decisions. They need guidance from parents and a caring community.
So yes, extremes are never good, however extremes do not define an entire ideology. So in the end this is apple's and oranges.
