Good morning elders

Please for IMMIGRATION HEALTH SURCHARGE (IHS), how long does it take to get the payment after this email please? Does it mean I have to wait another 6 weeks from the date of this email or the existing 6 weeks counting from application date

Hi Xxxx Xxxxx,

You’ve successfully made a claim for your immigration health surcharge (IHS) reimbursement.

Your application reference number is BS……..

What happens next:

You’ll:
• check payment has been made after 6 weeks
• possibly need to reapply in 6 months

Kind regards,
IHS Reimbursement Team

I initially made the application via the gov.uk website 6th April. I received a mail April 24th requesting me to reattach my documents as they couldn’t open the initial attachment. I replied to the email on the 25th of April and I never heard from them afterwards till I sent a mail this morning and I received the response above

There’s no pattern to this email. I applied in December and waited till February, no response. I then applied again and for another month or so I got no response. Then sometime in April, I got a double refund😅. Sometime last week I’ve gotten this email again.
I’d say just give it time.

This is how comments spiral out of control. Even the person who asked questions was making fun with his question and subsequent responses and you are here complaining. It feels like you were looking forward to a particular response to use yourself.
Meanwhile did the person asking question reveal location abi are we not in the UK anymore?

Bros, no dey tighten things for chest. If person wey ask question no complain why you come dey worry?

Hi All, 2 things. I currently moved form one skilled worker visa to another. According to gov.uk, my family don't seem to have to reapply since they still have visa from my previous employer. Some people say they have to re-apply for another visa, others say it doesn't matter. I feel they need not according to my interpretation on gov.uk. But maybe we misunderstood. Can some one advise. Secondly, I can link you to where affordable snails are available if based in coventry.

Diff experiences on different occasions.

Abuja is more restrictive. They sight your hand luggage and tell you its too big or heavy or what not without showing you an official document where the weight is written. You will speak grammar tire.

Lagos gives you the dimensions for size only, weight is as long as you can carry it on your back or hand. So put your heavy things in carry on.

Most importantly, one 500 here and another 1000 there can blur the lines and make it easier.

Thanks Chief cheesy

Just do a pre approval eligibility test....... So you're certain to get another...... You can sign up for another......

Try lenders with better interest rates, they offer better limits.......

Legally can the home office do this retrospectively.... I doubt it. This will be challenged in court

They can say moving forward but to do it for those who have switched... Lawyers won't allow this to fly

Legally they can do as they want, revise the guidelines as they wish. If you remember, dependants weren't allowed to switch in-country to a student visa. You had to leave and apply from your country of origin and this is just one example.

In my experience, it didnt. Though i only applied for a new one 1 full year into my Amex journey. got into barclaycard when they were running double welcome bonus and i couldnt resist.

but if a higher limit is your only target, you can apply to increase your amex limit every 90 days by up to X3 built mine from 1k to 5k and then afterwards, they started writing to me offering limit increases without me needing to apply.

on another note, BA Amex Companion Voucher is sweet. two people can go abuja and come for 160GBP.

What kind of gifts would you buy for village people abeg?

Travelled with them 2 weeks ago, aircraft was a bit tight couldn't really stretch my legs, had a 2 hour delay at Heathrow, asides that I think it was OK. Not fantastic but not bad either, somewhere in the middle.

It's all politics. But, hey, who doesn't want to remain in power. No 10 is a sweet tener!

Thanks Deept for sharing. It's good to know some of this 'testing the waters' articles HO 'sneaks' out there.
One challenge though with the post on coursementor, is that it appears to be like those desperate 9ja blog! #sensational
One will note the 'emphasis' on Tier 4 and Tier 2!! in the 'article'
The reality is that the conditions of Tier 2 ain't same as Skilled Worker, nor those of Tier 4 the same as Student visa.
For noting, YouKay Gov does not list student visa as one of the restricted visa type for switching to Skilled Worker. https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/switch-to-this-visa

I've stopped taking Suella Braverman and her people at HO seriously. They like making noise about student visas and asylum seekers as a way to keep reminding their fans "hey we're still here and doing our job" and to keep giving the media something to write about. Like someone said, it's all politics. Same strategy employed by Priti Patel in her days.

They themselves know that any drastic move with student route will drastically affect their education and economy as the EU market isn't available again. They know it's a delicate situation but then again how else could they woo electorates to their side if not by telling them what they like to hear?
