gerrald02: Unfortunately no. Just 10 days. But after the first denial, I’m grateful. I’ll reapply before the end of the year and I hope it’s easier since it won’t be my first time. |

dealhunter: Account balance was about 8k. I'll have to check for the full document list. But from the top of my head, - Invitation letter - Introduction letter from my employer - itinerary - Account statement - Family pictures with my parents and siblings - Hotel and flights booking evidence I think it also helped that I said I wanted to spend just five days and insisted I had nobody abroad. Plus my family pictures and explanation of how I receive my salary. The reason for my previous denial was lack of home ties, questions concerning how I received my income and doubts that I intended to come back because I stated in my application that I was going to Germany as well. |

Hello everyone, I dunno if this is the right place to ask but i'm running out of options tho. So, i got admission to study in lyon, part of the requirements to put together before i go for interview is proof of accomodation. Please i want to ask, does anyone know how and a sure place where i can book an accommodation at a cheap rate for the sake of getting through the interview and of securing visa finally. That's the only thing left for the requirements to be complete coz i've secured the others i'll appreciate the assistance |

Good morning all, how long does France embassy take to process visa application for first timers? I noticed they process frequent travelers application within a week or less. Your response will be appreciated. |

Ayinke93: Congratulations. Did you still apply with Belgium embassy the second time? And did you mention in your new application that your visa was refused and state the reasons? |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Ayinke93(f): 11:11pm On May 20, 2023 |
crusader6: I applied through France and I didn't mention my previous denial. I just made sure I addressed the reasons for the denial e.g attaching family pictures, explaining income and not mentioning that I have plans to visit another country. |

directonpc: For Belgium, they’re quite strict. For hotel reservations, make sure it’s a letter from the hotel confirming your stay. They’re quite strict about this requirement and have denied visa applications that were submitted with just dummy bookings. Goodluck! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Okay, so is this a coincidence or do these officials read these threads? Right after my rant, I Got a notification on Friday 19th, and the passport was delivered today. Visa issued by the Italian Embassy. Docs submitted: 1 Intro Letter stating the purpose for travel including a summary of my proposed itinerary. I ALSO disclosed the fact that I planned to visit Greece and France after Italy. Visiting multiple Schengen countries as part of your vacation really is inconsequential to their decision-making process in my opinion. Be honest folks. 2 Completed form 3 Bank Statement 4 months 4 Company Letters confirming status 5 Insurance Cert (worldwide cover) 6 Hotel Booking(s) 7 Flight Itinerary 8 Photocopies of previous (as far back as 2013) and current visas I am a frequent traveler to the US, UK, SA, Seychelles, Mauritius, etc. I don't see why folks rush the French embassy via VFS. The experience at TLS (for me) was superior with little to no delays at the center. But Italians like to take their time so expect a 1-month wait for their decision. Renewing my 10-year UK visa was also a breeze at TLS. realmidas: |

What was the reason for travel? Tourism? The last line gave the reasons as to authenticity of documents submitted. What documents did you submit in your application? Did you have sufficient funds for the trip for all 5 people In your application or insurance for the duration etc. One would need more information on your application documents submitted to be able to throw some more light

|

Advantages of having a Previous or Current US visa. 1. Gives your application an edge. 2. You fall under frequent traveler category 3. Stats has shown that people with US visas, pre, curr are likely to be granted Schengen visas. It portends a proper feasibilty. Please do not forget to always attach your previous visas that fall under that category to your applications. In rare cases, will you hear of refusals for these category of persons. Wish you all luck. |

Luckychild2015: With the things you listed and proof of substantial home ties, I think they were convincing, eventhough VO are unpredictable. I had to take my time to carefully read your feedbacks, and wondering under the category you applied if you didnt attach your Previous US visa. Would you like to share that info? Did you apply as a first timer? Thank you. For others reading these exchange of feedbacks, Please use these informations to prep for your applications and go through the thread. Someone shared a very vital info here earlier about belgium hammering on booking hotels, not just using dummy. I think these things can be really helpful for intending applicants. |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Luckychild2015: 12:31am On May 23, 2023 |
hunee: If your visa expired 5 years ago you don’t qualify as a first timer. I have also visited the following countries over 5 years ago, Mexico and Argentina. I will be going for my USA interview next week because,I will be going to Paris from USA. Cheers. |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by thelma76(f): 3:17am On May 23, 2023 |
crusader6: To give some perspective, I work with a well known multinational and we have a lot of trainings in Belgium. We were denied some months back for some of our applicants because 1. I think that embassy is generally tougher to deal with, and listen, they verify almost everything you submit if not all. They will reach out to every contact listed and if one thing is off or different, you will be refused the visa. In our case, we foolishly opted for dummy bookings instead of actual hotel reservations which we typically would have (and have) used previously. We applied again, declared the refusal, fixed the hotel proof with actual letters from the hotel and got it. The second denial was with another set where ambiguity of purpose of trip caused wahala too. So with Belgium, just keep your application easy (don’t inflate number of days you’re staying at all!!! It’s better to get a 3days duration valid for three weeks than to get a refusal! In fact, I’d recommend nothing more than 4-5days max and ask for a single entry visa!) and make sure the accommodation confirmation, conference contact details etc are valid and reachable because their DVO (department of verification blah blah) works hard to refuse anyone. I honestly wouldn’t recommend them for tourism though. So declaring a refusal is not always a bad thing especially if you’ve rectified the flags. We have someone who reapplied through France, first time traveller and got feedback in 8 days last month, refusal from Belgium was also declared with cover letter and multiple entry visa of 3 months validity (30days) was granted despite applying for single entry. So yeah, don’t think declaring a refusal is anything to worry about. |
