Tb Joshua killed 2go. He spread a false prophesy that some youths will die after using it in a particular week. That scared people off the app.
This was around 2012.

Last year, i was curious about the app, went to playstore and downloaded it, the interface wasnt much different from their java or symbian interface. was enjoying it untill one girl started disturbing for airtime.

You mean people still use 2go?

They main reason 2go went down is the point 2.

Easy to connect with friends instead of asking for user name,and no need to buy GC.
Same reason why blackberry messenger was a flop on Android.

Android was spreading fast, thanks to Tecno,you could even get a brand new android for #12k then,I got my Tecno N3 for #12k tear nylon grin.
Then Black berry messenger was available on Android,one had to start looking for pin up and down to add friends, unlike WhatsApp.

I think I was able to add like 10 or 15 pins and decided to abandon the app because i find it stressful then, unlike my WhatsApp.

Til date 2go and BBM are still better than WhatsApp...

both hv privacy WhatsApp dont have..both have friends search WhatsApp dont hv...we followed WhatsApp cuz its the trend

Honestly. That gocredits killed everything. Then again, people made it seem 2go users were immature.. I.e na small pikin dey 2go. People who made sense bought into that thinking and left.

Nokia's greed led to its demise. Nokia wanted the Chinese market. China makes it compulsory for foreign companies that want access to the Chinese market to partner with other Chinese companies and agree to a transfer of technology. Nokia went into China in partnership with a Chinese company. Some of its technology were stolen and and some were willingly transferred.

The theft of intellectual property facilitated the establishment of other Chinese brands that had the means to make cheaper phones with state subsidies, of course. Nokia lost its market share because it couldn't compete.

Nigeria has the population. We can do what China did to foster technological growth. Why don't we make it a law that for foreign companies to have access to our huge market, they must partner with local firms and transfer their technology? Our leaders don't have vision. Let's force Xiaomi, Tecno, Itel, Infinix, Apple, Samsung, LG, Toyota, etc to set up companies here or lose our huge market. They will comply. We have the largest market in Africa.

Our leaders won't do the right thing.

They got it wrong when they refused to allow users to access their chats without always entering their login details even when they saw that it was working well for WhatsApp.

Yeah, it was real good. And that was a cash cow for mobile networks, so I wonder why they stopped it.

Lol. I weak. There was so much around before 2go came into the big picture. Mig33, Nimbuzz, eBuddy, Mozart, Sh messenger, etc.

Those were good times bruh....I used every single one of these apps back then...before 2go even became the rave...even eskimi

why 2go collapse in my own opinion is the inability to focus on 1 main thing. 2go is suppose to be a chatting app, but along the way, they include alot of uneccessary features such as game, diffrent chatroom features + you gat to pay to use some of the feature via 2go credit. this is really a big turn off for most people who sees free alternatives.

It was a breeding ground for Oloshoism too and credit scammers
