I strongly believe that was the best thing he did .... and agree with him on why it was a good thing that was of benefit to Nigeria. If we sit and think of what we were doing before we would see it made sense. Why import what we can produce? We had stopped producing almost everything and turned to importation .... which economy can be made better by importing and not exporting? At the same time oil price crashed .... we would've been worse off since foreign exchange would've been used up importing fish ... and rice ... and chicken and ehmmm ....garri .... it had got that bad. We were forced to produce. How many have since been planting rice and other crops?... having fish farms ... snail farms ... etc? .... been rearing poultry? .... all as a result of closing the borders. How was this not a good thing?

The only sensible thing you can do now is to quietly mount down from your high horse and retire to daura or Niger, because the same Nigerians are tired of you and your utter failures. since 2015, it's been blames on past presidents to outright stealing and monumental corruption. It's unfortunate that to the last week of your government, you still remain clueless and deluded.

I don't support Buhari on almost everything, but I have to agree with closing the border. That was perhaps one of the best thing Nigeria could ever achieve in his adminstration. Nigeria needs self sufficiency in food production and hopefully one day, manufacturing. Closing the border was useful in the food aspect
