Common driving around in this Port Harcourt is an issue. The way they will rush you in their numbers to demand for tickets upon tickets, you will think you have armed robbers chasing you. Before you know it, they will forcefully take your car keys, while you are still trying to find out your offence, one of them will enter your vehicle and zoom off, the others will then tell you to join them in their vehicle to their camp where they will drain your pocket.
Things to know even when your papers are complete, never wind down when you approach a slow traffic area, if they eventually stop you, don't clear off the road easily because that makes it easier for them, most importantly, never hand over all your papers to them, asked them which particular paper that team is checking, then check your papers and show it to them that you have it, if you hand it over to them, they will act like they are passing it over to others to check and before you know it, one is removed and you will be told that you don't have that particular one.
Private cars too dey collect tickets in port Harcourt?
Ha! grin

80% of the niger delta youths are use and dump by either cultist warlords like asari dokubor and ateke tom or militant warlords like tom polo, when I was in pH during my secondary school days most of those boys resorted to bank robberies and kidnappings and many of them lost Thier lives because of that, the sad truth is that the younger generation learnt from them.

They just don't care what goes on as long as you give them matching ground or amnesty allowance.

Imagine the number of oil servicing companies it would have attracted. Imagine also the several thousands of employment opportunities it would have generated for the locals. Greed, selfishness and stupid sense of entitlement, same factors that ruined Warri.

What do you know about Rivers State?

I keep saying that any Industrialist can locate his industry in anywhere he feels he can make profit with ease. However our government is not being sincere to the peculiar problems of the Niger Delta.

Have you ever pondered what the North or even the South West would say if a Gold Refinery or base metal refinery is sited in Port Harcourt, Yenegoa, Warri or Benin instead of the North West where these metals are mined.
I am from rivers state and that state along with its people are too hostile. They discriminate a lot even among themselves (ikewerre against kalabari , Ogoni against okrika, etche against opobo & all). Even among the kalabaris there is a Cold War between those from Buguma and those from abonemma.
Non-indigenes of the state are not made comfortable. You’ll be constantly told to go back to your state. I lived in Lagos where I was able to secure a number of jobs offers & live freely before moving out of Nigeria. Competition for investments and opportunities is the way of life in Lagos as opposed to protectionism and hostility

I agree with you. I shouldn't have mentioned Peter Obi because just like you have rightly said, my post became ruined. Peter Obi represents ruinations, destruction, confusion, just take a look at the calamity in Labour Party.

Nigeria dodged an Atomic bomb.

Keep insulting someone who is better than, your entire present past and future generations.

Even in 5 different life times ,(if re- incarnation was true)you can never achieve 10% of what Obi has achieved.

If the states in those regions you mentioned are not reasonable with their demands the investor will move to where he/she is welcome. Here in Rivers State there are too many demands from LGAs, CDCs and community elders and youths.
Imagine the community elders blocking the entrance of an international company like Agip for days just because they feel that they are entitled to some money.
OPM had to stop the construction of free hospital and school the church was building in Okrika because the community were making unreasonable demands, they even gave the church 7 days ultimatum to provide their demands or leave the community.
Please tell me which serious investor will want to invest in such environment.
I know what the company I work for go through every month in the hands of community and LGA touts.
Those communities will remain poor if they continue to be hostile to investors....it's like shooting one's self in the foot. It doesn't make sense

Rivers state again. Smh.
Rivers state is not that liberal in things like this.

Join others like Alhaji Aliko Dangote,GCON, invest in Yorubaland. Take your investments away from unfriendly and hostile states and bring them with your talents to Lagos and other Yorubaland states.

Your investments will be safe and bring you great returns for as long as you do not hate us your Yoruba host and you do not dabble into our politics. Our land will not bless you if you live and do business in Yorubaland and hate us.

Our land is blessed and ready to host you, your family and your investments and bless only those who love us. You're just wasting your time and resources if you live and do business in Yorubaland but hate the Yoruba. Yorubaland will not bless you. If you hate us and live and do business in Yorubaland, the Yoruba will make your stay unbearable for you until you are forced to take your hatred and bigotry out of Yorubaland and return you back to where you came from empty handed.

Invest in Yorubaland today. Thank you.
God bless Nigeria for ever.

Even Yorubas were flogged when they went to vote because they "looked like Igbos".

That Lagos that an official led a protest with the slogan "My Lagos, not your Lagos"? The Lagos where a governorship candidate is called "Chinedu" by members of the state executive council.

That Lagos?

Tinubu is a visionary leader. An incorruptible person that IPOB was bent on destroying. Even Amusu of Ogun State demanded bribe. All over the country you have selfish and corrupt leaders. Only Tinubu had the vision and accommodation for business and development. We have chosen the right person to lead us in Nigeria.
Can you swear that Tinubu has not demanded Bribe from any Businessman? You guys keep yapping rubbish always

Nobody made it a monopoly for Dangote.

Even whilst Abacha was president, our refineries were not working.

What were you expecting a clever businessman like Dangote to do?

Continue watching?

As your state run schools were ran to the ground and entrepreneurs decided to set up private schools which function better, same with refineries.

Anything with civil servants in Nigeria, they must spoil it.
You make a very good point there!

Ibifiri Bobmanuel, thank you. In one of my previous posts, I have said, that an investor is not interested in investing in a place where the peace of his investment, will be threatened. When the youths and people of Rivers and other Niger Delta areas, were flexing muscles under the name of militancy and oil, we told them, but the couldn't listen.
When the Northerners were using religion and culture to scare away investors, we said, they never listened. With all the arable land in their possession,no serious investor is looking towards that end.
The people of South East, under the guise of agitation for Biafra, are causing lots insecurity, making investment their, very difficult for big time investors. In the next 10-20 yrs, these agitators, will see the negative effect it will have on the economy of South East.
The people of Lagos State and South West, should be careful, the way,the treat non- Indigenes and potential investors. International community and investors are watching. Dangote is neither a Lagosian, nor a South Westerner, but look at the massive investment in Lagos. When you threaten non- Indigenes, you are threatening investors, no matter the class, every investor,no matter the class, has its contribution to both the IGR and employment within the region or state.
Therefore, Leaders in the South West, especially Lagos State, should be careful in their dealings with potential investors. Learn a lesson from what is happening in other regions.
Oil is been produced from the South-South, but headquarters of the multinationals are here in Lagos.
Think and act wisely.
Oga try and stop being dense in your analysis. There was a bill that all HQs of Oil companies should be in the region where the oil is extracted, who killed that Bill? Do you know the history why Oil companies sited their HQs in Lagos. In the 60s Shell started in Owerri with their HQ when oil was discovered in Oloibiri they moved to PH. During the War Gowon forced all oil companies to site their HQ to Lagos in a bid to monitor oil payments so that none goes to old eastern region. After the war it was only Agip that relocated their HQ to PH. If i go by your flawed logic, what about NLNG that relocated to PH and Bpnny from Lagos? have they been frustrated. The real problem is the deliberate policies by the Northern dominated FG. I recal it was during GEJs regime that NLNG was relocated to PH and i recall how Yorubas protested about it. That is the insincerity in your statements. Let FG be sincere and allow businesses move to where they have comparative advantage in terms of material logistics and watch what will happen to Lagos.

The political leaders and community leaders in Yoruba land are most likely to have contradictory opinion. The people you see making hostile comments against non-indigenes are mostly political leaders...with some community leaders who are politically aligned..

When you meet neutral yorubas, they tell you that character isn't a character of an Omoluabi. It's a strange character.

Make dem no worry what happened to warri go soon happen to Rivers state that is if its not happening already cos na so warri take start small small until it became a shadow of its self…Our Riverline brothers need to have sense.

Whatever the negotiation is do all you can to Attract the business and the investments first. But no they all would fight each other over things they wish to gain now now and never reason about future gains.

I don't think SW are hostile to investors rather it is the people in government that are always an adversity to investors because they want bribes and kickbacks that may not be reasonable and affordable to the potential investors.

Forget about what happened during election, it was blown out of proportion by the so called social media
You mean flogging even fellow Yorubas because they "looked like Igbos" was overblown? Using charms on one's neighbours because they are Igbos and other ethnic minorities who wanted to vote was overblowing the issue? Having a government official leading a march chanting "my Lagos, not your Lagos" was overblown?

What dishonesty!
