Purchased 14 plots of land for plantain farming in Ogun State through a close family friend but it ended in long story. Finding it difficult to get back on track since 2014.

Making the mistake of impregnating a girl four years after my marriage. I was forced to marry the girl as second wife by her family. This really dried my account and I haven't still recovered till now - it's over 3 years.

How does a family force a grown man to marry their daughter. I smell lies

One of my plans this year was to setup a business.
Set up a barbing saloon but ended up regretting it.
Imagine my barber telling me that he worked N150 on Saturday.
I have to lockup the shop.
Just planning to sell off the shop

I spent and have spent close to 4m on my barbershop.

Like one nairaLander adviced, if you have no idea of the business.... Run.

I'm not a barber and I'm paying the price till date. The shop is on and off because of constant changing of barbers here and there.

Unless you are the only house in the forest, then for now it's ok to be worried.

Otherwise... Take it off the market. Development will surely come, I have a few like this.
I sold one last week for triple!

What is that particular thing that you bought or that project you carried out that really affected your bank account?

Mine was last 2 years when I acquired a land, up till now I've not recovered from it. And funny enough they are presently dragging the land with me but its well

I have alot but 2 major instances.

I was young and naive and my mum was like I needed to start planning my live etc. I was in my early 20s but I was blessed.

So I saw this house for 35m, it was a perfect bungalow in ibadan in a very descent area if not the best estate till now. Business was booming so I decided to follow mamas advise that you ain't getting younger do a capital project. I had like 25m as per total worth, and I'm like make I shook head. Na so I follow the agent talk before you know mumcee Don Carry me enter her association to collect 5m loan she also had 5m for me. Within month I paid almost 45m. 10 percent to my lawyer 10 percent to the agent and some other land use act then. Oboy for months I didn't recover. Na that time business no come like before. Where I dey make money again I got transferred out. I wan die. I was using my salary to service like 2 different loans still it wasn't enough. My personal business no dey move. As in ehnnnn.

Las Las after almost a year I recovered but not after becoming wiser. The lesson I learnt is don't rush into buying personal properties. If it's for business, go ahead but invest before planning. This days the house just dey there. I'm not married, my fiancee no even dey within arms reach. I fit no reach the house in 6month. It was really not worth it. If I invested the money into business as at then, chances are I would have doubled it within that period and by now I for even buy better and bigger house

2nd was when I got my an hotel. Some 2 years ago. I was already in my mid 20s. Na so person talk am for my mum ear hotel business dey sell and even showed her one for sale somewhere in the Southwest. Being the only guy mumcee called and did everything possible to sell the idea. She even called my fiancee who is abroad and told her I'm being intrasigent. As I had my eye in another sector for investment and my japa. Las Las I took the idea as per hotel no dey short. Price was 50m. We begged till 38m and I'm to pay twice. Mumee loaned me quarter of it as she will be using the big supermart beside the gate to make money. We Sha buy. It's being two years now and have not recovered. Sure hotel business dey pay as no how no how people go do short time and drink beer + buy for their banny. But nepa bill alone ehnnnnnnn. No regret on this Sha as within 3 years I should be able to get the capital back.

I took 4.5m loan from union bank two years ago and invested it on Baraza. The scheme crashed 2 months later and up till now, I'm still paying for the loan.

I took another loan from GTbank to complete my one story apartmen. Almost 80% of my salary now goes into loan payment but I thank God that the joy i get from recently moving into my own house exceeds the pain of the dry pockets I'm facing right now.

Mine .

I contacted a seller on Facebook for a Camry muscle that I liked and was willing to buy.

I took a painter and not a mechanic for inspection and yet I paid 2.95m for v6 car. As a first timer,I couldn’t differentiate between a v6 and v4 and the painter didn’t tell me much about these things before I choked my head into it.

Las las, I spent another 3m plus from feb till April for upgrade and change of engine as the previous engine got knocked on my way to Abeokuta.

If I had known, I would have just built an hostel jejely then.

The car keeps taking a minimum of #10k fuel from me every week as its fuel consumption rate is high even after all I have done.

Now,the car is okay as I have upgraded it to Belgium state and only the weekly fuel consumption is constant.
