Kini SBE?

It's an acronym for School of Banking Excellence which is Access Bank Training School for their Executive Trainees (ETs).

I had to create new thread, i think it is better this way...

It's the 5th weeks already..... Day 27th

One thing i am enjoying here is our breakfast and lunch especially, i love the cookies with Tea/Cofee, then our lunch, My God!
I am very sure they are spending a whole lot of money to finance this, to say we have been having this foods ever since January 9th, every Mondays to Saturdays, and to say it is a proper food ohhh, i eat Chicken almost everyday, or sometimes take Croacker Fish, I am enjoying it while it last....

I am yet to submit my employment documents, hmmn! I should finish this training school first, let me see road

So we had an exam on Monday, it was Basic Accounting Exam, i studied Accounting, so i kind of have an edge, though this is a course i had done in my Year 1 days, like 10 years ago, Omo! i am getting old ohhh

I had to do some reminiscing, but it wasn't that bad finding my way around it, to say during those times, i never really understood my ledgers like that, but it feels great having to learn them again, and all.

We had classes back to back, the class got to know i was an ACA, lobatan... then there was another ACA colleague, i call him my God sent helper, he had helped me in the i think 2nd week, he shared me some relevant materials i didn't ever think to ask for, then baba was saying, i like you babe, i said, Focus! let's finish SBE, what brought us here first, baba said, we can do both now, in my mind, i was like, ogbeni, jhoor ma ko ba mi, i didn't come here to play ohh

Then the exam held on Monday 6th, the sitting chart diagram directed me to seat in the next building, at almost time, we were informed there was a power outage, a part of me was happy jharre, though we would have to wait for almost 3 hours when the first batch finishes, so i could listen to some videos on some topics i haven't gotten a grip of, on YouTube.

Then like 3 colleagues came around asking me to explain some things to them, i started, it was also an opportunity for me to learn the stuf again, we were mid-way when we saw a message that power has been restored, and we were to go to our classes for the exam, Omo! i was like, God please, let this power go again...lol

I went to locate my class in the next building, the invigilator was in the class already, someone was sitting on my seat, i checked the sitting arrangement, i just had to help her move her stuffs, so i could sit on my seat, she wasn't on seat, i would explain why i did that when she gets back.

Exam started ohh, i got my class exam password, questions came popping, I thank God, questions that came to my screen were very okay. My account balanced, though i had a little difference, i had to review all over like thrice, on the 3rd attempt, i was able to see what happened, i had mistakenly written 020, instead of 200, and that was what was causing the throw up, after adjusting that difference, i got balanced, my face was litted, to say the question was also okay.

I think another prayer point should be, God please from the questions bank, let only simple questions come to my screen, it is very important honestly, because while some might have it soft, another might be having it hard.

God helped me, Thank God

After the exams, i went to the cafeteria, on exam Mondays like this, we get our food packed for take out already with a bottled water, it was full when i got there, there were varieties, i settled for Rice, Beans and Chicken. Immediately, i left for a friend's house to pass time.

The Whatsapp chats were hilarious, people were saying God Abeg! the exam was harrrrrd, some people didn't find it soft, some got really technical questions, some got tricky ones, some got confusing ones, different stories....lol

Everyday I'm grateful to have been employed by my employer
I'm really glad I got shortlisted, I'm glad I was patient enough that evening I had my final interview.

Because that evening, honestly I was tired of waiting at the lobby, i was already exhausted from waiting, because I had to stay back in the office, considering the scheduled time would be me on transit to mainland. I had waited waited, and was starting to get impatient, and I didn't even bother reading anything more, I'm like residual knowledge would do it.

Then boom! a face appeared, I looked overly serious, he asked me to loosen up, then the interview turns a tete a tete, what he asked, I don't even know, the core values of the bank.... me that have forgotten.

Then I remember the shortlisting test was hell and chaotic, I'm glad I walked this process in 2021 if I'm correct.
I'm glad I wasn't comfortable with what and where I was then, I'm glad I took the risks, I'm actually risk aversed, but then......

My job is really helping me to do this First born responsibility fair enough....in my last job I struggled a lot...
I was just an angry bird unnecessarily, commuting Ojuelegba to Victoria Island everyday was annoying, waking up early to join my ride was hell, Monday meetings gives me palpitations, I'll literally tell Tonia, to be praying while I'm in a meeting, and I'm to present......

The environment looks okay, but beneath is a well of toxicity, chai!.

I'm grateful my offer letter from my new employer, came when I clocked 6 months, I resigned without looking back, to say my supervisor left 2 months before I left too. Mama literally advised me to leave, though at the time she left, we discovered some beans she had cooked, oh boy! it was on me... wasn't funny.

This morning, I'm looking back at those years, where I am now, where I am going, I'm really Grateful
God had helped me honestly.....

Then presently, when I'm having a fair overwhelmness, if I remember my compensation, I'm relieved that, okay okay, easy easy, I'll be fine...lol
Last week, we had journeyed to Lasu, Ojo for storm, the sun that beat my head was enough to get me bald, plus the pool car doesn't have an AC, it was hell, the rain came, the sun came, and I was not on my product shirt, I wore my fine gown and shoe, I had to go like that, so my supervisor wouldn't say, I don't want to go... The traffic was terrific, we learnt they were having Convocation, it made the road worse...

We spent hours on the road, it wasn't funny, but then I remembered my pay check, I was consoled.

Then I'm trying to make every moment count, the unit I am currently, I believe strongly, it's for a while, I'm learning everything I can here, you know as an Account Officer, the role is a lot. Half year appraisal is around the corner, I'm really trusting God for my figures, you know.

I need account too, help me help me..lol
My budget this year eehn! it's so ridiculous, afi k'olorun saanu.

In summary, some risks are worth taking, just do it, with God by your side.
