Haba, how do you want someone that doesn't even remember what happened yesterday to remember 2012. Only God knows if he isn't reminded every morning that he's the president when he's about to start dancing naked in front of Aso Rock grin grin

The question is, did Tinubu and you support Jonathan in 2012? You all protested against him and subdued him. Now you want everyone to support Tinubu. What kind of paying is this?

Subsidy is no longer a scam...........
post=123488634:

Any advocate on fuel subsidy should convince the Nigerian people why President Tinubu should embark on a present illegality that gulped $10 billion of our scarce or unavailable resources in 2022 alone.

Those claiming to defend the right or welfare of workers should convince the Nigerian people that $10 billion injected into the economy yearly will not jumpstart the economy enough as to create massive jobs and even increase the same minimum wage they complain about.

Anything to move our Darling country forward is all we want at [/b].

Lol, I’m trying to find someone in world history to illustrate OBJ with but I can’t find any. However, in black diaspora parlance - he embodies the definition of an Uncle Tom.

Years ago, I read an article about how OBJ has always worked against Yorubas (I’ll see if I can find it). And off the top: I can remember he worked against Awolowo in 2 elections; was against Abiola in 1993 and was dragged out of jail in 1999 to work against Yoruba interests as a faux-pacifier.

Tinubu is also somewhat flawed thus far but an argument can be made that he played to the gallery to achieve the ultimate goal (which he did). However, you can’t deny the fact that he’s an authentic Yoruba man. Just looking at him - his glasses is reminiscent of Awolowo’s signature glasses. And he became president by doing what Akintola and Abiola did (you have to be a student of Nigerian history to understand this). Even his speech in Abeokuta where he said the now infamous “Emi Lokan” exemplifies that and you have to be Yoruba to understand the significance of the speech and the location.

I see a bit of the liberal part of Putin, the dexterity of Reagan and flair of Tony Blair in Tinubu.

I can see some dimwits that kept supporting Buhari on this thread. It is so shameful that people let their personal interest override that of their country. Buhari has come and go, but the consequences of his failure is left with Nigerians. We just pray this administration doesn't end in failure too. Amen.

Just one question for you. Can you tell us why Tinubu was against subsidy removal back in 2012? If you can't then you are a hypocrite and shouldn't be taken seriously on this forum, simple.

So is he insinuating that subsidy should not be removed at all because Tinubu held a different opinion in 2012, we are humans and we change our stance/positions on issues when confronted with superior knowledge/facts. Nigeria is irredeemable because people that should know better are unavoidable partisan and bereft of common sense.

This APC government lies more than devil, they change like chameleon.

In 2012 Tinunbu was of the opinion of considering the masses just to gain political relevant but today the masses are not to be considered.

Isn't it the job of oppositions to protest against what they don't like? Na WA o...
Nobody is interested in protesting as many understand the wrong of subsidy. Nigerians are only asking Tinubu to explain why Jonathan was made a villain for the same subsidy he now wants to remove.

For the record, I believe Tinubu will perform, however he need to answer that question or apologize to Jonathan. We must be decent even while playing opposition politics or we have no business governing.

Really?
He needed power, why do you think Democrats in the USA cried hard against Trump yet did same when Biden came onboard?

People, especially in politics understand the concept of power, it is taken not given and they'll do anything to take it and respond to the same thing they condemned.

Jonathan shouldn't have allowed these guys control his desire to do what he thought was right. I recommend you to read the laws of power to see how the game of power has to do with interest, nothing else.

You never started what Trump did that Democrats protested over carrying placards, shutting down the country as APC did using "Occupy Nigeria," only to turn back to adopt when Biden entered.

Americans for one regardless of the side of the divide puts America first. An issue as serious as subsidy that keeps raising our debt profile should not be politicked with or don't you think so?

To the Robert Greene's book you alluded to, it is largely Machiavellian in principle and last I checked many governments around the world put their country's interest first ahead of power.

Tinubu should be decent enough to apologize to the Jonathan administration else it will be said he lacks the tenets of being a principled gentleman. Gentlemen in the America you talked about resign from government for things like this. It's called preserving one's honour.
