Thanks everyone for your concerns,we are all in this together. I see us as a small family. At exactly 7months after my visa interview, the lawyer called,Since I am in a different city from my parents and where all my school and other documents were to be verified,he saw me first as he also needed to verify with my employer before proceeding to see my parent and also to verify my documents which are in the same state as my parents. I am so happy, atleast one step forward. Now it's to wait for verification complete email then send your passport and travel date email,I can't wait.

Lagos
I thought Lagos applicant always had theirs done faster than us living outside Lagos. Well I'm in the South-South, they'll get to you. If I could get mine done since after my interview in October then all those waiting for lawyer will see him soon. Amen

If your husband have a blue card, you don’t need the language certificate. Pls does anyone know how long the visa processing takes if the person husband is on student category in Germany. I submitted my documents since 3rd of March 2023

Chessbaby:
I need an information on this, I read somewhere on the consulate website that some one whose spouse has a Blue card and the applying spouse has a University degree that they don't need the language certificate. How true is this and does anyone fall under this category?
Did they insist on the language certificate?

Not sure but we might get the same lawyer cos, just like he interviewd me I also asked him questions and of cos you know this people will give you diplomatic answers. But he told me that he'd be heading towards that side,he started from the farthest places from Lagos and he'd keep going further untill he finds himself back in Lagos. He even said that in one state he has 16 applicants for verification. So we will all get answers, though it will take time but it will come.

There’s Green Manor hotel opposite Mike Adenuga Towers or Glee Hotels, they are both in a walking distance to the embassy or you can take bolt or Uber with less than a thousand naira.
You can book online using booking.com

You do not need to book a flight. Write it in a piece of paper and submit together with the health insurance print out, or in the body of the email if you want to send the health insurance as an attachment via email.

They use it to know what start date to print on the visa.

If you are going to submit the travel insurance in person, just take a plain white paper and write your intended travel date on it and attach to the envelope.
If via email. Write the dates the body of the message and attach your travel insurance e.g
Intended travel date: 30/June/2023.
You must give a space of three weeks from the day you would submit to the day you are traveling.
Good luck and congratulations

Hi Everyone,

I had been observing from afar for about 6 months now and just reading comments so that I could know what to expect for my husband's visa process. Here's a timeline of how my husband's visa application process went:

September 2021: Applied for appointment date (he was just my fiance then so you don't have to wait till you're married to book for a date as I read recently)
October 2022: Got interview date
November 2022: Had interview. Interviewer told him that the verification and A1 certificate is not necessary. i think this is because at the time my application to transition from student visa to blue card was still pending and he mentioned to them that I had applied for a blue card. The interviewer told him to bring back older pictures of us LOL, which he also submitted in November.

We didn't hear anything from either embassy or ABH between November and February. I wrote ABH in February to ask for a status update and they said I had to wait for my resident permit to be issued before they can continue with my husband's application. In the meantime, the salary requirement for blue card increased in 2023 and I had to switch from a blue card application to a resident permit for employment purposes.

March 14, 2023: Had interview to change my resident status from student to worker. I was told they will not process my husband's visa until I have physically picked up the permit, which took another 6 weeks.

April 26, 2023: Picked up resident permit

May 4: Got a letter from the ABH that some documents were not properly filled. So I filled them correctly and sent it back that same May 4.

After a week later, I called the embassy and asked for an update since i did not hear anything from the ABH. They said I have to wait and the lady I spoke to wasn't very nice anyway. i sent an email as well after my call asking for an update.

May 16: Got the email to submit passport, travel insurance and travel dates.

May 18: Submitted all documents.

May 26: Got passport back with visa and all documents.

His travel date is not until August since we only had the legal wedding last year, so we plan to do the church wedding before we both leave for Germany. All we had to do was submit travel insurance and ticket itinerary and made sure they matched, and they issued his visa to commence on his exact day of exit from Nigeria.

Gosh the whole anxiety concerning this process is something else, I was the one with the anxiety and my husband was chill the whole time LOL.I pray everyone who is waiting will be granted their visa cause this thing is not easy.

Is this same in some case?? Thanks I await responses

Dead silence since then undecided

Reconfirmation of Status by ABH March 2023
Approval mail March 2023

Little background. Single mother family reunion visa.
