Change this your ojoro mentality

The boys won with hard work ,if they had made any silly foul in the 18 box they will give argentina penalties and people like you will blame it on ojoro

Ojoro means ojoro. Deal with it. tongue

So, in a nutshell, what you're insinuating is that how you play is more important than the final score.

Don't deny this o.. where my bottle sef

Yes.

Results are short term, but how you play decides how you can improve in the long run.

Let's avoid chest beating and take one match at a time. Congrats to the young boys nonetheless. I hope they were able to enjoy their win (in front of a full house!). We are not at the summit yet so we continue to climb and work hard. Bring on RSK.

Oga kokmne,I know you will love thegoodjoe opinion.

Yes Argentina player would makes good progressions than Nigeria players due to many factors that me and you know very well

Yes I know.

But what we do is sweep over all these issues in a wave of sentiment based bias and pretend these issues don't exist.

And begin to declare our players as world class and the next best thing and call them generational talent.

We have a Nigerian playing youth football ⚽ in inter Milan and we are claiming generational talent at 18 (and if you want to go further that age could be easily disputed)

A credible player in U20 WC.Are you guys forgotten we are taking about under age tournament.

Dont go there. Even U17 boys and girls would be held accountable for missing those chances.

How many 18 years old are currently regarded as generational talent in European football? The last I knew of was Kylian Mbappe..

Better side always winning with tactics.Football match is always about winning my man.Argentina had the possession and dominated but outcome proved that they are not better by losing two nil.

I don’t rate Bosso but benched Eletu should tell you he read Argentines very well.Amuneke I rated would have lost the match cuz he would be out there trying to dominate a team he cannot dominated.

Sir I love attractive football but a good coach would use any tactics to win.

100% spot on.

TheGoodJoe, in addition to this, modern day football has gone beyond ball possession and domination without end product.

Today's game is all about efficiency. The team that created 4 chances and converted 2 is better than the team that created 12 chances and converted 0. Whether you are building for the long or short term, result is what matters.

Maybe going forward, our players would start taking National Engagements seriously

George Weah didn't play at the world cup, but won both CAF and FIFA player of the year.

This particular crop of boys are very poor. I saw them against Netherlands. Lack of talent is their major problem.

I hope their coaches scout better ahead of the next U-17 tournament.

If care is not taken Nigeria football academies is going the way of NPFL cuz of fraudulent agents who preferred collecting monies from parents for easy access to Europe.

My senior bro took some academy players to Italy recently and it was war to pick players due to coaches and parents relationships.

The coaches are ready to sacrifice talented ones for mediocrity

In did not introduce the word generational talent somebody else did.

I challenged that claim placed on a 18 year old youth player for inter Milan as grossly misguided. I am taking about Ebenezer Akinsanmiro.

I made comparison with his peer group playing first team football ⚽ but not called generational talent.

When asked how many games he has played for Inter Milan first team I got silence to date.

The bolded is the point. It is not advantage but when you face a side better than you, or a tactically superior team, you park bus hoping to win.

It does not make you a better side.

So we should not get excited.

So why are you guys arguing what you termed common sense.

We should not get excited because we were not the better side.

Finito.

Who are you to tell boys not to be excited by the win. We beat Argie in their home especially after multiple heartbreaks from them yet we should be depressed because of possession stats?. It doesn't matter if we were outplayed or not. History only remembers the winner and in this case the better side won. Finito

Yes you are right long run but in age tournaments all we want are players for the future and with what we have seen so far we are getting there ,playing negative football does not limit these players chances.

We have had four games so far with different approaches,so let’s continue enjoy the team till it last.

At 18 you should be showing it should no longer be wishful thinking 🤔 but more or less establishing high level quality potential.

So who are the individual players please

At youth level winning is great development, learning and progression much better.

Arsenal may not win all the youth cups and tournaments but they are producing the top players of tomorrow.

That was what was thought before but now it is a general fact that history remembers the dominant sides. In a long run, dominant play yields to growth of players and teams.

Also, I am saying we should not mistake the win as a sign of strength. We should not get comfortable and know we still have lots of work and risk ahead.
