Nope... They can't sit down!

When there is no transparency in government, you can't demand compliance from Labor unions!

If we all love Nigeria, nobody will do anything to distract Tinubu at this critical time.

Honestly, Tinubu is the one distracting himself from day one!

A leader must learn to communicate and communicate effectively with citizens and those in the area of unions.

This strike would never have been thought of if he had first met with labor and clarified with them before opening his mouth to make that May 29 declaration!

You have to understand how democracy truly works...!

Labour should not compound our problems.

They are fighting for themselves..

The pains will be hardbiting but I pray govt will not fvck things up as we going through this..we just want good governance.

Very soon, your children might not be able to eat 50 naira chin chin again. 50 naira biscuits and chinchin might become a thing of the past if care is not taken in Nigeria. If flour prices increase again due to fuel subsidy removal, bread will become unaffordable for many Nigerians. Start praying that fuel price will reduce to at least 300 naira. Cheers.

This is what happens when you put aside something that should have been done for decades till it gets too too worse.

This subsidy of a thing should have gone since 1993, if not earlier. By now, we would have adjusted, and moved on. Instead, we are facing the thing we should have faced decades ago.

Anyway it is gone for good now, hopefully. And yeah high prices are very painful.....but the pain of being so broke that no one would give you any more loans....as seen in Sri Lanka recently....is far far worse.

You are speaking high grammar...!

This means nothing to over 100 Million working and suffering Nigerians!

If you want this to work, it has to be mitigated as much as possible!

Matter of fact, you are supposed to start by halving and cutting down drastically all government expenditures across arms of government especially Executive and Judiciary!

You want the citizens to pay for such a needed policy with their blood and tears while politicians continue to live like kings!!!

Labor is merely doing the needful!!!... They should have sat with them and ironed out such gray areas before even announcing the removal!

When you don't carry Labor along in such a critical economic move, you create such avoidable crisis.

Food manufacturers and transporters mainly use diesel not petrol so I'm wondering why they should increase prices if not for taking advantage of situations.

Mr. President, over to you!

It's not enough to shout "It's my turn"!

The impending strike can be stopped... Just meet them again and show them all the cards! Withhold nothing from them!

Show them clearly that you are on the same path with them, which is to save the nation from economic collapse!

Let your economic blueprint be made clear to them... In addition, y'all should iron out how to reduce or mitigate the impact of this irreversible subsidy removal on average Nigerian workers!

If there should be a brunt to be borne, it should not be borne by average Nigerian citizens alone!

Let the economic impact be shared from Aso Rock down to Legislative and all top ministry heads!

This is how you calm Labour unions!
Exactly my broda!

Nobody is against d so-called subsidy removal, but u don't kill d ppl because u want to stop d thieves dead on their tracks!

You have been forced to suffer, your leaders have been enjoying since when you were born, while most Nigerians have been suffering. Even with Fuel subsidy Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world, the second most terrorised country in the world and one of the country with the lowest life expectancy. Suffering is what Nigerians are used to. Removing subsidy unfortunately will only worsen the situation. There is nothing much Tinubu can do to make things get better, he hasn't shown that he can do much for now.

There is no business being kept afloat.
You can keep repeating your lies, it won't make it true. Mention one, just one marketer who has ever sold fuel at a loss in his filling station.

Meanwhile, you have not answered whether it is responsible for any govt to allow its citizens to be exploited and economically pulverised in the name of subsidy removal.
Hold on... do you even own a business to start with?
How can they sell fuel @ a loss, when the Federal Government is the entity bearing the burden all in the name of fuel subsidy?

As a businessman, would you allow government to set your prices so that they can 'help the poor'?

They are still setting the prices that is what the other commenter is asserting.

He said how did they arive at this current pricing? That question should be answered for all to know what is going on. It is a valid question for an employer(citizen) to know from his employees(government).

Govt never set any price for anyone.
What happened with petrol subsidy was a case of the govt picking a price and paying you what ever difference is between theirs and your final price as an importer. The subsidy was being paid as claimed by marketers. Govt never forced anyone to sell at a loss. What the marketers wanted was the space to make claims for bogus profits and when that didn't materialize, smuggling out to sell at higher prices than govt subsidized rate within Nigeria was the only option.
That's why Buhari tried to make NNPC the sole importer of fuel or force any other importer to not claim they are bringing in their above NNPC's imported fuel price.

Stop lying around dude.
