Those guys are active/ex Polish army and not Russians or even Ukrainians. They trained with Ukraine in the UK and were issued American weapons alongside the Ukrainians.

That said, those guys gain nothing from speaking Polish if they understood Z Russian. Russian intelligence can easily translate Polish.

Even at that, they were speaking to themselves in Polish and not over the radio, so your point doesn't count.
