Health workers’ union under the umbrella of the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) has suspended its 12-day-old strike after meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Monday.

JOHESU National Vice President, Obinna Ogbonna, confirmed the development to PREMIUM TIMES on Monday evening.

Mr Ogbonna said the strike had been suspended due to the progress made during the engagement with the president.

He said the health workers “called a meeting shortly after meeting with the president and decided to call off the strike and gave a 21-day timeline to the government.”

We have been on strike before declaration of the subsidy removal. Stop being emotional over everything.

Old news.

The medical union has pulled out of strike after meeting the President and given 21 days notice. NNLC has been restrained from striking by an.order of the Industrial Court. June 19 they will show why they did not give the statutory 21 days notice.

Tinubu is not Buhari. As he is begging you, he is planning his next move.

Health workers have been going on strike for eons now...in 1984 they went on one bruising strike against the government, and Buhari sacked all of them. And the palaver really is the hospitals...the government run ones...need more money to function well.

Every time, government does not give the health workers what they want...more money to fund better hosptials, and more money for their pocket. (But of course).

So, there are two things here now...either we pay more tax for health to be funded better, or we pay higher in hospital fees.

If both strike u as oppressing the poor....then government has to find more money for the sector.

Or we all stop grumbling about how bad things are...and accept what we get.

And removing lawmaker;s salaries won;t help. We need twenty times whatever we get from the senators...before we can talk.
But I ll be glad and enjoy the misery of politicians that can't manage like civil servants when their money is reduced drastically.
A long mouth senator like OUK or Ndimi earning like N700K per month for his total pay ll suit my belly.

So the only way forward is to extract more money from you and not from the leadership cutting their excesses.

Same way another person said it is easier to remove subsidy to help the people than to increase minimum wage.

My confusion is how do poor useless bastards carry reasoning like this?

So the more they plunge u into poverty the better for you? Poor people supporting antipeople policies

Their strike had nothing to do with the subsidy removal, they had long downed tools under the rein of the inefficient ngige who incidentally is a medical doctor himself.

Okay, let's keep borrowing to pay the subsidy then.

Good evening
