What happens to the budgeted money for June, someone will now pocket it while Nigerians suffer
Check your account, the budget money is there

I'm sure you're unconscious when Buhari asked the NASS for loan approval of $800M few weeks into leaving office but was rightly declined

There's a difference between Government budgeting money for something and Government releasing money to do the thing.

Subsidy don become history in Nigeria
I don't think a lot o these kids understand how serious the problem is
93% of government revenue is going to service debt
Monthly budget is 400billion for subsidy and Government has not paid subsidy for 6 months, even longer and people expect NNPC to just allow the debt to grow.
Some ignorantly ask who owns NNPC

NNPC is like family business owned by the FG and state government
FG is like a first son
Imagine a first son collecting rent from an inherited house of using it to borrow money and spending how he likes
It doesn't work like that.
NNPC is a company that pays tax and royalty.
The FG now owing it trillions of what belongs to the 36 states and 774 LGAs

We will be on the streets beginning from Wednesday just the same way Tinubu was on the streets protesting against subsidy removal during Goodluck Jonathan regime
You're free to occupy the street of Aba and Umuahia.

The days ahead will be interesting.

But I sincerely don't understand what NLC look to achieve with their proposed strike.

These guys watched unhinged when Buhari and the lawmakers worked the 2023 budget and had subsidy thrown out after it's June. Why was NLC mute and can't challenge Buhari then?

NLC also understand that FG is borrowing heavily to pay for subsidy. And going forward, it will be impossible to pay salaries of civil servant or provide basic amenities to the people. It would have been reasonable if they tell the nation the very best alternatives of paying for subsidy without spending all our income. Do they want FG to sink into debt? What alternatives do they proffer?

It is impossible to tie the hands of FG especially when the President is determined.

But let us watch as it plays out

But you understand what NLC achieved with the 2012 strike for subsidy removal

Before nko? Was anyone expecting a court to do a honest job of meting out true justice? It has been long they gave up on us, and we have trailed them so far to have lost confidence in them.

Im worried why only Ibos carry this strike for head.

Every other region support the subsidy removal except the ibos.

To be frank, ibos have really killed their chances of ever producing Nigeria president.

Their messiah Peter Obi will fade away in few days once his witnesses in court start flowing.

This is victory for Democracy as NLC allowed ibos turn them to a mockery.

May we never Labour in vain like Peter Obi and obedients.

Insha Allah

Chances is high that NLC/TUC will not win this subsidy battle. The removal is enshrined in the PIA, which is a Law.

BAT nor be PMB angry strike and see yourself replaced by a competent job seeker. BAT is looking for a way to get rid of the old government workers to reduce the wage bill and autonomy. Tinubu is not in Aso Rock to play. NLC & TUC are a bunch of greedy clowns instead of humbly dictating their reasonable needs for the FG. The FG will now be the one to determine their future.

Interesting times ahead

can the courts also order oil marketers to revert to old prices of pms just as they ordered discontinuation of deadline for new currency notes.

You cannot use exparte court order to injure the other party or force the other party to part away with huge sum of money in the form of subsidy.Going back to old price means losses to the other party.

But Labour cannot lose anything by suspending the strike.

More so ,subsidy became illegal by virtue of the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act 2022.
