Attacking the Lagos State House of Assembly for wanting to enact laws to protect indigenous Lagosians and labelling it "ethnic dog whistling" is grandstanding. Should indigenous Lagosians sleep on their rights when people they welcome into their communities provocatively and ungratefully call their land 'No Man's Land', and falsely alleged that they built Lagos with their sweat? Never!

Many states passed laws rejecting Buhari's Ruga settlements for Fulani herders, and we celebrated. Now that Lagos wants to pass laws to protect itself from people who wish to Ruga Lagos, you are complaining. How is that different? What is sauce for Greece is good for Uganda!

Every nation on Earth is entitled to have laws to protect indigenous peoples. Even America, which many like to cite as a bastion of democracy, has laws protecting Native Americans and recognising their status as original indigenes. Canada has such regulations as do Scandinavian and Nordic nations.

If those laws are made, and any group of people do not like them, they have two options. Challenge them in court, or leave Lagos and go to a place you feel is better for you than Lagos. Lagosians are very welcoming people. But it is outrageous to expect them to give up their rights as indigenous peoples because they want new residents to feel at home.

Igbo claimed they are the ones that are developing us and we said that don't develop us again. all of a sudden they are crying.

They should go back to their war torn region that is full of pain and agony; we are tired of their criminal lifestyle here.

..Why only Lagos? Kano did the same by banning alcohol to protect their indigenous beliefs...Nobody kicked against it.
If you are not pleased with Lagos, you are free to relocate and nobody will miss you.

Sure the law should protect indigenes
The government should compensate anybody who legally purchased a land or building if they want to reverse the property back to the indigenes

I actually want something that will bring the larger population of Igbos back to Igbo land. We ve seen so much hatred that we deserve to leave the toxic places and come back home. I believe an Igbo man's ability make something out of nothing anyway anytime

Tinubu is not an indigene of Lagos state, same as FFK and Bayo Onagugaraga.

An indigene of Ogun state residing in Lagos is like an indigene of Sokoto or Abia residing in Lagos. If the indigenes of Lagos were protected, Tinubu would not have migrated from Iragbiji to displace and lord over the indigenes of Lagos.

Not the same. A katsina man and a Zamfara man shares close affinity and kinship just like an Enugu and Anambra man. Of course same applies to Yorubas.
