Behold the antichrist

My friend, head to the hospital on Monday to consult a doctor. You need an xray done ASAP to know what's up, because no-one can prescribe correctly an meds for that thing without an xray or CT scan.

Let me prepare your mind, you might need a surgery, especially if it is lipoma, as it has no cure othet than going under the knife.
.

Lipoma comes to mind too..My mum removed her's through surgery.

No. I never claimed to be a doctor
.

And no, OP case doesn't necessarily need to go to the theatre. It is something that can be done while he is awake.

Let's even assume it is cystic or whatever consistency you want to believe it is, what will CT scan do for you?
If you're not a doctor then, i see no further need arguing with you on this matter.

So, if a patient will stay awake during surgery, the procedure shouldn't be done in the theatre?? Nawaoo! Imagine that these are the same people that always criticise the Nigerian health care system!

This is one of the reasons I no longer comment on health issues here, as you laymen have already taken over the place with all sorts of "medical" advice and opinions being dished out at will.

Good day to everyone on this prestigious forum. The decision to share this story of mine came to spotlight after months of reluctance & indecision to share and as a result of the stage of deterioration regarding the physical abnormality. That I truly regret!!!

First & foremost what I'm about to say here is about the strange body growth that attacked my left foot, above my left eye & most disturbing right now the bony protuberance on my forehead during my service year in Benin City in 2021, though the last in the list was habit induced which started before I was called-up for NYSC but not very noticeable while the others still remains a mystery to me how it started, at that time my colleagues make jest of me that "you played Johnny with Benin girls abi which is absolutely false. But those on my foot & left eye subsided with the help of an kind elder-state dad in my area.

Now the one disturbing right now is the bony protuberance I've on my forehead which is at a degenerating stage, it's actually began with a childhood habit of mine which involves rubbing my thumb knuckle roughly on my other finger which I find pleasurable now this habit metamorphosed recently & upgraded to my forehead but I only did it when I'm sad, not knowing that I'm causing injury to my forehead but then when I noticed some little bump I stopped it even before I went for service, since then it's just growing.

Please I need all the help I can get right now.
Doesn't look malignant. Looks like a lipoma to me. They'll excise it and send for histopathology.

Do I need to tell you that there are minor surgical procedures that are done in the treatment rooms of clinics and in the A$E without the need to take the patient to the theatre? So if you want to remove a small growth on the leg, you wouldn't do it until you use the theatre? So, you are telling me all surgical procedures are done in the theatre? Please, you need to be well informed doctor. Dentists that remove people's teeth while the patient is awake but experiences no pain, do they do it in the theatre or in their clinics? Or that is not a surgical procedure? Dermatologists that remove melanocytic naevus, skin tags and other small skin growths in their treatment rooms in their clinics nkor? If you go to the A$E of many hospitals, repair of minor lacerations are done there in the A$E without taking the patient to the theatre. That is not a surgical procedure? If you want to do incision and drainage for a small abscess, you will be waiting to take the patient to the theatre?

Back to the topic of discussion, how will CT scan help you in OP's case? Stop asking questions. Just tell me how CT scan will help you in this case!

You said I shouldn't take OP's word for it that the swelling is a bony protuberance. Fine. I agree with you. Let's assume it is soft and we are suspecting that it is a cyst or a lipoma, tell me how CT scan or Xray will help you.

I will be waiting!

Sorry I'm responding to this late. It is not much of a problem, it is called Lipoma (a collection of fat). Go to a general hospital and it will be removed through surgery.

The surgical procedure is so easy that you can leave the medical facility almost immediately after.

I had mine removed 10 years ago.

It's called LIPOMA. : A lipoma is a round or oval-shaped lump of tissue that grows just beneath the skin. It's made of fat, moves easily when you touch it and doesn't usually cause pain. Lipomas can appear anywhere on the body, but they're most common on the back, trunk (torso), arms, shoulders and neck. it can be remove via a surgery.

No treatment is usually necessary for a lipoma. However, if the lipoma bothers you, is painful or is growing, your doctor might recommend that it be removed. Lipoma treatments include: Surgical removal.

So, you can't tell me how a CT scan will help you in this case? Or you just tell patients to do investigation for investigation sake?
