I like your reasoning, but do you know that even with the "controversial" INEC results, Peter Obi won two Northern states (talk about Northern appeal with an unknown political party).

B.A.T on the other hand, had little appeal in his own region because;
-1 He lost his own state Lagos
(let's ignore the fact that no presidential candidate who won an Election in Nigeria, ever lost his own state)
-2 He didn't totally appeal to his own South west region putting in mind he lost Osun State.
Additionally,
-3 He didn't appeal to the entire East & South South. (Let's keep in mind that both Peter Obi and Atiku won in states outside their affiliated regions)
-4 He didn't appeal to all the States with the highest voters, despite running with an incumbent political party.
**Edit**
He also lost the FCT by a long shot

If not because Naija na Naija- where blue can be called red, B.A.T actually failed his own popularity test.

Let's be realistic. When you say Nigerians believe in Peter Obi, you'll need to be specific and precise with adjectival or descriptive phrases like 'smart Nigerians', 'right thinking Nigerians, 'well meaning Nigerians', 'civilized Nigerians', 'sane Nigerians' ...
Don't just generalize. Its unfair to box diamonds with limestones together in a single case. These APC rifrafs makes it sound like an insult to be called a Nigerian.
