The disorder can happen any time. There are environmental factors that cause it but its definitely not inborn. Sexuality in itself is psychological and physiological and not just physical. A baby born with a penis does not automatically know he's a male. He is conditioned to male sexual behaviour through social interactions and hormones.

So I find it totally fallacious that a healthy male who is producing the right amount of testosterone will still end up becoming gay when his physiology is actually pushing him towards heterosexual behaviour. It's just like a menstruating lesbian. Can we ask nature what the menstruation is for exactly?!!

As for tomboys, they are known to have grown up in the midst of guys and are thus more wired to male outlook but still retain their female physiological and sexual behaviour. That's why I said it's not a disorder cause I've seen tomboys who later become more feminine in appearance
