Anybody that came after Buhari was certainly going to be an upgrade. What's funny though, is that all the while Buhari was implementing these bad policies for 7 years and 6 months, they were drumming support for the policies and twisting and turning to provide rationalization for them. They now rig their way to the presidency thanks to some very diligent as$ licking, and they're now doing a 360 on all the things they once defended while it was Buhari there.

Yesterday I heard a senior civil servant complaining bitterly how he has bought fuel worth 35k within 8 days for commuting from his house on the mainland to his office on the island . He was saying “Lori salary elo ?” ( On top how much salary ?)

That is just one of the realities that has manifested . Many more will come; as things will be expensive going forward .

When people say stuff like “ Things will get tough first but it will get better in the long run “, I really think people don’t know how long “the long run” will be before it comes (That is if it ever comes ). I hope people know malaria that private hospital will treat u for say 10k-15k May go as high as 50k-60k because even their own cost of operations will increase. It is easy for people we see on TV (who belong to the upper class ) talking about how we all need to endure and weather the storm , but it’s something else seeing people in the middle class and lower struggle to cope with the new economic realities .

It’s not just about food or fuel, it’s about almost everything .
You're right. But food and fuel are the most important for the common man. If fuel prices rise further, there will be further increases in the prices of food items.

When foods are too expensive for the common man, that's anarchy looming. Even you that can still cope won't have peace of mind when there are so many hungry people around.

It's a recipe for disaster.

Leave Oasis and his fake prosperity. The fact is that as at last night if you are in Nigeria and had any naira account you just got poorer by 40%. Massive 40%.

Exactly.

Worse still, if banks cannot meet local demand of the Dollar at that 600+, it will push people to the black market and we all know what will happen.

There is every possibility fuel may rise to more than 700/litre. Anyone who can fill his tank should do it now.

Even if it is remains at the current price, all well and good. The fuel is still there to be used.

The bolded is a common tool used by clueless politicians to receive the masses by creating a caveat just in case their policies don't work.

Such language should be resisted by Nigerians by every means possible.

What actually happened was that the previous official rate of 460 has now depreciated to 660. If banks can meet demand, those selling at the black market rate will have no choice but to bring the price down.

For now, nothing much has changed in the black market. That's why you're still seeing the price you saw yesterday.

For the dollar matter ehn, only time will tell sha. I would like to see the forces of demand do its thing for the first time cos in this Nigeria wey dem born me I’ve never seen anything wey forces of demand and supply actually control in the real sense . E be like say when Oyinbo dey design free market theory , demand and supply , etc dem no give allowance for Naija corruption .

Filling one’s tank won’t do much jare . Something that u will still exhaust sooner or later and eventually buy the expensive one .

I have a friend who really likes going out and partying. He's one of those guys we call omo jaye jaye. I called him recently to find out how much they sell fuel around his area(we live in different parts of town) only for him to tell me he has not bought fuel since BAT made the announcement cheesy

He's still using the fuel he bought at N205. I asked how manage, he said he only uses the fuel to work and back to the house. He no longer picks up nor drops any lady that visits him. He will just give them tfare. No clubs, parties, events, e.t.c. I couldn't believe what I was hearing

My point is, you'll be surprised how long it now takes people to use full tank of fuel. cheesy A lot of adjustments have been done.

Of course. But at least, you would have saved some money that can be used for something else.

The difference between full tank now and the price you bought is more than 20k for some vehicles

Lmao
.

Remember the first few months of buhari, from body language to multiple announcements.

Lmaoooooo

Dey sign bills upandan but not setting up the foundation and structure in place for those things to properly be implemented.

Now for this fx issue we have to be praying to God that regulators actually do a monumental task that hasn't been asked from them before because right now let nobody deceive themselves.
We don't have the FX to meet demand.
E nor dey at all.
Even Dangote that sapped alot of our FX wasn't said to repay in dollar.

So as usual we are about to see small shege here and there.
The tough times talk that apc people want to use to bobo people is so they have an escape route when people complain.
If this isn't tough times already then I dunno what it.

When people are told to go out and touch grass. It's because of certain naive talks like this.

Once again in 2015 we saw these reactions and bragging from APC guys😂.
The current poster of all news tinubu is just the new crop of apc graduates to continue. Let us not worry about him and his delusional excitement.

Even larride is smart enough to say "let's see how it goes" 😁

That you reduced frivolous spending doesn't mean other expenses haven't come up to take up what you reduced.
The general price of food has gone up.
The increase in the price of fuel is 3 times. Meaning even if you don't drive alot, you are still spending beyond shege for the small fuel you bought.

Even if the fuel last you a longer time, the money you used to buy that fuel is 3 times higher than what you used the last time.
Don't know if you understand?

We are happy.

Hope when the new person is announced and we realize it's still the same old crop, we won't be termed pessimists when we talk🤭.

You guys live in PH with less human and vehicular traffic compared to Lagos the headquarters of Traffic jams . So it’s understandable u guys can map out strategy to conserve fuel and it will work out well .

You see this Lagos ehn, u fit leave work 4.30 get home 7pm and then u will check ur phone at 10.30 pm to see the status of a colleague who is still stuck in traffic cos one trailer fall for a full side of the road . Shey the person’s fuel conservation strategy never collapse so ?

The price to buy the fuel sef alone don't scatter everything.
How long you wan conserve to bridge the gap difference between the old and new price?

Where was this? Probably when the flyovers and roads were being constructed and everyone was forced to use the same route. Things have really changed, thanks to Wike. It is very difficult to experience that kind of traffic these days.
