What do u mean by the spirit remain with the body in the grave. Read Ecclesiastes 12.7, then read the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Come back and tell me the abode of soul spirit after death.

The Spirit of Eternal Life, the one Jesus Christ said those who are born of Spirit are born of.

Why am I having to explain figurative speak found in scripture several times today?

Figurative speech #1: From dust you were made and to dust you return and Perish in the grave means you perish or cease to exist when you die, absolutely no afterlife/eternal life earned.

Figurative speech #2: Sleep in the grave or to sleep with the fathers means to have eternal life/afterlife and so will not cease to exist after death.

For candidates of eternal life, it does not matter whether their dust is stored on the moon or the dust cast into the sea, come time of the resurrection, Jesus Christ said they will hear Him and be raised from the grave(figurative speech #3) meaning raised back to live - John 5 vs 19 -29.

I taught religionists believes that souls never die, so what is it fighting for when it is eternal already

That one is easy. If you have ever struggled with mental illness for an extended period of time, you would have, at some point, come to the realization that no matter how damaged your mind is by all the highs and lows of the devastation, there is an aspect of your person that is not directly impacted. Mental illness can and does harm your body and your mind, but it cannot for some reason directly harm your soul...that part is you and could still keep the fight alive no matter the psychosis or delusion weighing you down. That is what I refer to as the soul.

This is what God said in Genesis 3 vs 19 when He cursed Adam
The statement in red, much like the statement perish in the grave is a figure of speech meaning the man(you) who dies will cease to exist. This indicates that there is no afterlife/eternal for said man. It means his mind, body, and soul will never again be reconstituted to the same consciousness, that unique entity that once existed in that combination which is the mind, body, and soul. It will simply be dust as though it were never a man. So, in answer to your question, I didn't say the body ceases the exist, rather I said the man ceases to exist.

■ Let's take this opportunity to consider your earlier statement or question against Scripture.
Consider what Jesus Christ will take place at the time of the resurrection.
Given what is written, I take it that you, in fact, believe that only those dead bodies that are in their literal graves will hear the voice of Jesus Christ and be raised from the dead? All those who were cremated and thrown out to sea or even the bodies thrown into the sea or whose dust has been blown out by the wind will not be resurrected by Jesus Christ?

■ Well, point is, if you define a body as a certain thing , then after that thing has been burnt and turned into vapor that mixed with the air and blown all over, with some particles of it breathed in by millions of people, whatever you defined as body has ceased to exist. You don't keep referring to it as if it still exists.. That's how things work in this our reality!
