GraciousWords:
POF and Dollar

I found this old quote from Blackbuddy. It explains what Cochtrane has been trying to say very simply. I hope people read and understand it. It was written 5 years ago in 2017 and is still relevant today. Of course, people are free to disagree with this view cheesy Especially those who believe that the POF is assessed based on the "official" exchange rate on your AOR date. Even if IRCC assess POF at AOR using the official rate on that day......it's about more than the Canadian dollar equivalent at AOR, it's about the real value of the money to you when you begin to spend it on landing.......Naira is not what you'll spend in Canada. And unless you get a job before you land, it's likely you will begin spending your POF from the airport.

Let's even assume 708 is inflated and unrealistic, anyone who bought 4 weeks ago at 606 would still be making a loss compared to if they had bought that same amount at 406 2 years ago, when they started saving the POF.....even if it was only $1,000.

It's very very very difficult to save in foreign currency, but in my view....most prudent thing POF wise. Passing POF eligibility with IRCC is one thing......the value of that POF to you is quite another. The best way to merge those two objectives is to.....#BuyDollar

https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/728#59148316

CIC is interested in the POF as dollars but you are allowed to hold the equivalent as Naira, pounds, rupees, cedis, etc.

So you are expected to have the dollar equivalent till conclusion of the application review process. If on Monday your POF is say, 4m naira and equal to $20,000.00 which is the expected POF for a family of 4 (this is just an example please), if exchange rate fluctuates and on Friday, your 4m is no longer equal to $20,000.00 but is now equal to $18,000.00, can you say have the complete POF? Of course not, because you no longer have the equivalent of $20,000.00. I am not out to scare you please but just to clarify the expectation, hence I illustrated with the example of the 2014 FSW PR set so you monitor the exchange rate and increase your POF accordingly or just get the complete dollars and keep so that if naira goes up or down, you're not concerned as your $20k remains complete. This thinking keeps you ready incase you receive request for updated POF which is for the VO to see if your POF is still up to the dollar equivalent. Remember, the currency used to measure the POF is Canadian dollars not naira so please ensure your Naira POF is equal to the dollars expected for your family size at all times.

Hope you understand now.

Let the people in OINP do their thing, if they send you invite make sure you ask them if you are number 16501 so that you can reject it 🙄.
...So true...Just focus on what is within your power..Some persons with 481 and above were invited by OINP...Most of them especially on 481 and above might not go with it once Fed EE gives them ITA... because that OINP application fees no be here o

Good evening seniors. Please can anyone explain how to calculate the current POF using the updated POF rate on their website. I can’t seem to figure out how people arrived at the $485. Thanks
...To be on the safe side,I'd suggest you use #500 to $1.

It's much better

Has anyone that submitted passport in last couple weeks at Lagos been able to track it. The tracking id provided keeps saying “no records found”. I just want to know if this is typical or there is a reason to be alarmed. Passport was submitted on June 9.

Thanks

Chai. Thanks. Too late indeed.

It’s so slow. Passport submitted May 30 just got there. It’s too slow. Thanks a lot. We wait.

Please how did you know when it got there? The email notification from VFS that it’s been dispatched? Or you tracked it?

Yikes. I guess they’re just super slow. The passport I’m tracking just shows “no records” for some reason that I can’t figure out. I hope you get your passport back soon.

Hi Everyone,

I'm in the process of ECA evaluation by WES and i need clarification about something, I see that the highest level of education is what is required to submit for evaluation, In my case my BSc is only 3 years as i entered through direct entry (IJMB) and i saw the below statement on WES website:

"If you had direct entry into the second year of study, you must also provide documentation for prior study, e.g. IJMB exam certificate, A-level results, National Certificate of Education, National Diploma or Higher National Diploma."

My question is do i need to add IJMB as part of the evaluation which needs to be sent by ABU Zaria or just add only my BSc and wait till WES reaches out and i provide the exam certificates? I saw in the previous threads that some people also had issues with this specifically, I'd appreciate some answers or if anyone who had this issue and was able to sort it out could guide me.

Thank you

Good evening everyone.
Please I have question.

I am currently in my final year (final semester) here in Nigeria. Please can I still go ahead to write the IELTS exam or wait till I finish my final year exam and defense? I have like 3 to 4 months to finish.

I'm not sure how fast my school takes to issue results too....

(I have years of work experience)

Your experience only counts post education for Express Entry.

That may not be true, experience is different from educational credential. They're not mutually exclusive. Besides, all that's required is for them to provide relevant documents that demonstrate their experience in their NOC, and education. For instance, I may have been working in a qualified NOC for years before completing a higher degree.

Send them both. Don't wait until they ask you for additional documents before you send your diploma because you'll only be delaying your evaluation.

Thank you for your response, does this mean I am to include all my documents from Secondary school ceritificate(WAEC), BSc and MSc. I only inputted information on just MSc.

Lastly I will like to also clarify should Accounting and Business Adminstration be classified under Business/Commerce or Management/marketing and other activities?

Thank you.

FSW Inland Application (Spouse outside Canada)
ITA - June 08
AOPR -June 15th (My eligibility immediately turned to "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements" )
Medicals - Upfront Medical for the both of us
Background check -
Not applicable.
Previous Biometrics - Not yet linked (Spouse was recently approved for Spouse work permit)

Is it okay for eligibility to start immediately after submitting an application ??

Good afternoon everyone,

Trust we are doing great!

I read through the trend, I saw this comment, and decided to comment on it.

With regard work experience gotten before higher education if it counts?

I checked ircc website it state clearly that it counts- I would have shared the link, but I don't If it prohibited so as not to get banned.

For example, If ones WAEC could be assessed by wes why won't ones work experience count in as far as ones Noc duty matches the noc code, and not academic grades.

Although there are certain Noc code that requires an higher degree, I feel using Noc code that matches ones past work experience which does not require higher academic credentials will be of no harm.
E.g

someone who due to his or her good communication skills, computer skills, and management skills upon graduating from Secondary school was privileged to work as a secretary in a small firm or school and happen to have acquired even a part-time diploma while working I feel he or she is eligible to apply for experience entry because the minimium requirement is WAEC and not PHD.

I feel the same applies to those who claimed self employed- he or she was able to attain some certificate while working- it will count.

If one was not given a big chair, big computer nor wore cooperate wears to work does not mean one's daily duty does not meet the Noc code- I feel it all boils down to daily responsibility

Pls I stand to be corrected and I feel someone out there might feel he or she is not eligible due to fear of the unknown.whereas, he or she is truly qualified - the story of the man on nairaland who got COPR by claimimg Noc code for printing, got written reference letter from his past client- not even typed, but with paper and biro really made me see things clairvoyantly.

Known unto God are his works - I wish everyone the best

I stand to be corrected by all the Boss & ogas in the house.
